I 1 4 ' According to Jane Ealy, de- partment head, the business ed- ucation program is following the same general set up as last year. The department provides Lincoln students with career ideas and several permanent job placements. The students are offered one of several courses: Arithmetic. Business Law, Con- sumer Business, Data Process- ing, Notehand, Shorthand, and Typing. Skills are developed in these classes to help the student prepare himself for future jobs. The new clerical practice program of the department pro- vides the student with on-the- job training and experience for the college bound as well as the non-college bound student. Distributive Education (DECA) also gives the student an oppor- tunity to work when released from school and to gain a credit for doing so. DECA introduces the pupil to the business world. 17
