Burgeson. HELEN CLAUSEN Nurse Mrs. Clausen keeps a check on all student health prob¬ lems. She hasn’t been at Lincoln for very long, but she has already made many friends. HELEN HOLT Librarian Miss Holt is in charge of the school library, its refer¬ ence section and magazine file. She is always ready to help student or teacher find needed information in one of the best libraries in the school system. — 7 —

BOWEN Principal Mr. Bowen’s ability as an administrator is evidenced by the growth of Lincoln under his leadership, and the position that it now holds among the Des Moines Schools. He has worked hard and now he can see what he has accomplished. Lincoln students are proud of their school. Mr. Bowen has done much to make it a school of which to be proud. ROBERT WILSON Acting Vice Principal Mr. Wilson has taken over the position of vice-principal left vacant by Mr. Dickson’s death. He is doing an excellent job in his new office, as well as continuing with all his duties as senior counselor. IRIS ANDERSON Advisor Miss Anderson is the kind of person who is always busy, and yet seems tireless. When¬ ever her aid is called for, she gives it freely and earnestly. Her help has done much to make a success of the many activities at Lincoln. KATHLEEN SHIFFER Registrar Seniors recognize Mrs. Shiffer as the woman who takes their requests for tran¬ scripts. Taking care of the many requests is a staggering job, yet Mrs. Shiffer also finds time to keep a record of all school money. — 6 —

To instill a fundamental knowledge of the lan¬ guage, both in writing, reading and speaking is the aim of Lincoln’s language arts department. Discussion groups explore the realms of many books.
