John F. Bortell . . . John served on the Student Council as a sophomore. He also served as his homeroom president and as a monitor for two years. In 12A John was a member of the Get Together committee. Outside of school h« par- ticipated in the Flying Hoofs Drill Team. Ambition: To attend Drake Univer- sity. Judy Bossuot . . . In her senior year, Judy served on the Get Together Committee. Ambition: To get a prosperous job. Barbara Boylan . . . Barb belonged to intramural sports, participating in basketball, volleyball, and baseball for two years. In her senior year she served on the Com- mencement Announcement, and Cap and Gown Committees. Ambition : To go into a branch of the service. Jerome Bradley . . . Brad lettered twice in track and once in football, and was a member of the Lettermen Club for two years. As a sophomore, he appeared in the school play, Behind This Mask. In twelfth grade he was elected Chief Justice of Student Council. In 12 A, Brad was a member of the Ban- quet committee, and served as mast- er of ceremonies for the Get To- gether. Brad was sports columnist on the Railsplitter. Ambition: To become a success in the field I choose. Jack Brockman . . . As a senior, Jack was a member of the D.E.C.A. Club and served in the office of Parliamentarian. He was on the Cap and Gown Committee in his senior year. In journalism he helped in advertising. Ambition: To attend A.I.B. Janet Eileen Brown . . . Janet was a member of the tennis team for three years, and received one letter. She was a member of the Latin Club, the Social committee of Girls Club and Leaders Club. She served as vice president of Leaders in her junior year. She served on gym staff and Miss Anderson ' s staff. Janet was historian of Student Coun- cil, and was the back page editor of the Railsplitter in 12A. In her sen- ior year she served on the Class Day committee. Ambition: To graduate from S.U.I. Barbara Jo Bunch . . . Barbara was a member of the Bible Club and Future Teachers. She went out for tennis in eleventh grade. She was managing editor of the school paper and won honorable men- tion in an essay contest in twelfth grade. In her senior year she served on the Treasury Committee. Ambition: To enter the journalism profession. Warren Lee Burge . . . Warren participated in football and wrestling fo r three years, lettering twice in football and three times in wrestling. He was also a member of the track squad. He was a mem- ber of the Dorian Art Club and Let- termen Club. In eleventh grade he received a trophy for being an out- standing wrestler. In his senior year he was co-captain of the wrestling squad and a member of the all-city football team and the second all- state football team. Ambition: To play football in col- lege. Marlys Diane Butler . . . Marlys was a member of the Dorian Art Club, Homemaking Staff and Girls Glee Club. She served on the Program Committee of Girls Club and the Advertising Staff of the school paper. In her senior year she be- longed to the Get Together Commit- tee. Ambition: To work in accounting at Bell Telephone Company. Judy Ann Byg . . . Judy was a Flag Twirler and back- page editor of the school paper in twelfth grade. She was a member of the girl ' s basketball, belonged to Student Center Staff, and part ici pat - ed on the Student Council. In her senior year she served on the Get Together Committee. Ambition: To become a barber. — 17-

Willis L. Basset . . . Bill was on the wrestling team in his senior year. Ambition : To attend college and be- come a public accountant. Janan Marie Batchelor . . . A member of Latin Club for three years, Janan was elected treasurer in her senior year. She was also treas- urer of Y-Teens, a member of Drama Club, secretary of Senior Chorus, and served on the Social Committee of Girls Club. In her senior year Janan was on the Homemaking Staff and Drill Team, and served on the Prom Committee. Ambition: To attend college. Carol Ann Batterton . . . A member of Dorian Art Club and Homemaking staff for three years, she was elected president of the lat- ter for two consecutive years. In her senior year, Carol was a member of the Drill Team and Banquet com- mittee, and won an art scholarship to the Des Moines Art Center. Ambition: To attend beauty school or a commercial art college. Jewell Beck . . . Jewell was a member of Leaders Club and Pep Club for two years. She was a member of the gym staff and served on organization staff in journalism. She was active in intra- mural basketball, volleyball, softball, and was on the tennis team in elev- enth grade. Jewell served on the Banquet Committee in her senior year. Ambition : To become a physical ed- ucation teacher. Max Biddle . . . Max was a member of Latin Club, Senior Choir and Boys Glee Club for two years. He was a member of Student Council for two semesters. In his sophomore year he played baseball and served as a monitor. Outside of school Max was a mem- ber of the Catholic Youth Organiza- tion. Ambition: To become a CP. A. Carol Dee Bingaman . . . Carol was a member of Dorian Art Club for three years, and Pep Club for two years. In tenth grade she was on Mr. Blackman ' s staff and Mr. Knott ' s Art staff. In her junior year she was on the Publicity com- mittee of Girls Club. In her sopho- more year she was president of her homeroom. Outside of school Carol was secretary of her church youth- group. Ambition: To attend Graceland Col- lege and become an interior decora- tor. John S. Blake . . . John served as president of the Stu- dent Council in his senior year. He was also a member of the Lettermen club, All-City Student Council, and Usher and Hospitality committee. He participated in football, baseball, wrestling and track, winning two letters in football and one in wrest- ling. John was voted Homecoming King in 1961. He served on the Prom committee in his senior year. Ambition : Have my college days suc- cessful in every way. Craig Blessing . . . Craig served on Student Council for one semester in tenth grade and one semester in twelfth grade. Judith Catherine Bonhote . . . Judy came to Lincoln in her senior year as a foreign exchange student through the A.F.S. She was a mem- ber of Latin Club, Drama Club and served on the Friendship committee of Girls Club. She was on Student Council, and was President of French Club. Outside of school Judy sang in her chinch choir and took ballet lessons. In 12A she served on the Informal committee. Ambition : To graduate and become a journalist or interpreter. Leora Kathleen Boozell . . . Leora came to Lincoln from Chari- ton in twelfth grade. While at Chariton she was a member of Y- Teens, G.R.A., and participated in the junior class play. In 12A Leora served on the Cap and Gown com- mittee. Ambition : To join the armed forces as a secretary. -16-

Esther Ellen Caldwell . . . Esther was a member of Dorian Art Club and Office Staff. She helped behind the scenes of two plays : We Were Young That Year and Junior Miss. She participated in radio and was a monitor in eleventh grade. In her senior year she served on the Banquet Committee and worked in the school ' s Lost and Found depart- ment. Outside school she was a member of Junior Achievement. Ambition: To attend the Americana Academy of Beauty. Robert Paul Campbell . . . Ambition: To become a carpenter. Charles Aaron Cantrell Jr. . . . Outside of school, Charles belongs to the Air National Guard. Ambition: To Income a jet mechanic. Lucy P. Carra . . . Lucy served on the Commencement Announcements committee in her senior year. Sara Elisabeth Casady . . . Betsy was a member of Science club, Glee club, Pep club. Mermaids, and Leaders club. She participated in the marching band and school or- chestra. Betsy received honors for being runner-up in the merit schol- arship contest. In journalism she was Assignment Editor of the Green- horn and Feature Editor of the Kail- splitter. Betsy served on the Infor- mal committee in her senior year. Ambition: Go to college and become a bio-chemist. Ralph Andrew Catron, Jr. . . . Andy was elected vice president of D.E.C.A. in his senior year. He was a Student Council representative for three semesters, and a gym monitor for one semester. In 12 A he served on the Informal committee. Ambition : To become an apprentice mm poser for the Register and Tri- bune. Carol ( ' base . . . Carol served Lincoln as a gym leader, a member of the Office staff and worked in the supply room for three years. She was a member of Future Nurses, and sang in the Senior Choir for three years. In 12A, Car- ol was co-chairman of the Banquet committee. Ambition: To attend Drake or a school of medical technology. Anne Marie Cipale . . . Anne was a member of Girls Glee Club in her senior year. Outside of school she was in a church youth or- ganization. In her senior year she served on the Prom Committee. Ambition: To join the Waves. Ronald L. Cochran . . . Ron served on the Hospitality and Usher Committee for three years, and was a member of the Student Council for two years. He was a member of Latin Club in tenth grade and was a monitor in his senior year. Ron participated in basketball in his sophomore year and football in his junior year. In his senior year he served on the Prom Committee. Ambition: To attend Iowa State Uni- versity. John Cole . . . Ambition: To attend college. — 18—
