Veronica C. Toussaint . . . Sparkling eyes and a top person- ality helped Veronica to be an al- ternate cheerleader her senior year. She was also a junior cheerleader for two years. Veronica was in Girls Glee Club and Junior Chorus, and has been on Secretarial Staff for two years. During her 12 A semester she served on the Stenographic Com- mittee. Outside of school Veronica belongs to Rainbow. Ambition: To follow a ltHO gr» phic career. C onstance Ruth Troxel . . . Connie ' s ability to work hard and her winning personality helped her to become senior class treasurer. She has been out for tennis and has been on the honor roll for five semesters. She also has been in (Jirls Glee Club, Student Council, Librarv Staff, and Drill Team. Ambition: To become a dental assist- ant. Anders Sigfrid Tyrberg . . . A beautiful tenor voice led Andy :»« be chosen for All-State Chorus. Andy came to Lincoln from Vittsjo, Skane, Sweden as a foreign ex- change student on the International Christian Youth Exchange program. In Sweden he is vice president of his church youth group, and is sec- retary of two other youth group.-. At Lincoln he was in Senior Chorus. Boys Glee Club, and Madrigal. He was on Student Council and also All-City Student Council. He served on the Prom Committee during his 12 A semester. Ambition: To attend the University of Lund in Sweden. Nancy Jo Utterson . . . Always ready to say something nice about everyone makes Nancy a popular girl. Nancy has participated in the Junior and Senior Chorus and Glee Club. She has been in Future Teachers Club and a member of the Friendship Committee of Girls ' Club. Nancy has served on Office Staff for five semesters and has been on Student Council. Nancy was chosen to be one of the Flag Twirl- ers for Lincoln during her senior year and was on the Prom Commit- tee. Ambition: Become a stewardess. Rosemary Valenti . . . Rosemary came to Lincoln from Os- sining Junior and Senior High School in New York. At Lincoln she is a member of Leaders Club, and Gym Staff. During her senior year she was on the Class Day Committee. Her favorite sport outside of school is bowling. Ambition : Attend beauty school. Linda Kay Van Dyke . . . Linda ' s personality makes up for what she lacks in height. She has been on the honor roll. Girls Glee Club, Senior Chorus, and on Student Council. She is also a member of the French Club, and was on the Baccalaureate Committee. Outside of school, Linda belongs to YFC dill and Junior Achievement, where she is president of Central National Bank. James Edward Van Scoyk . . . Jim has been an all around athlete while at Lincoln. He has gone out for baseball, golf, and basketball, in which he received one letter. Jim has also served on the Student Coun- cil. In his 12 A semester he served on the (let-Together Commit te Ambition: To go to Dunwoody In- stitute and major in Architecture. Gary L. Warren . . . Gary always seems to have a smiie on his face. He has participate , in football and art. He was also a Hall Monitor and a Gym Leader. He served on the Get-Together Commit- tee during 12A. Outside of schoo. Gary ' s hobby is hunting. Ambition. Become a carpenter. Danny Joe Watkins . . . Danny is a lad who is fun to be around. He has been in radio class and claims that chemistry is his hobby. Louis Phillip Webber . . . Louis entered Lincoln from Dowling in 12B where he played freshman football. Outside of school his hob- bies are drawing and baseball. Ambition : Become an a rtist. — 29 —

Karla Sue Stevens . - . A sweet manner and a pleasing per- sonality describes Karla. She has served Lincoln by being on Office Staff. Student Council, Leaders Club, Future Nurses Club, Y-Teens, Drill Team, and the Informal Committee. Outside of school, Karla belongs to Rainbow, and claims bowling is her hobby. Ambition : To follow ■ stenographic Jeanine Steward . . . Big blue eyes, quiet, and intelligent are traits of Jeanie. She entered Lincoln from Woodrow Wilson Jun- ior High where she was on the honor roll for three semesters. At Lincoln she has been on Student Council. Office Staff, and the Finance Com- mittee of the Girls Club. Jeanie also helped in making the student di- rectory. Ambition : BeCOBte a private secre- tary. Ronald Lee Stiles . . . Ron is a friendly lad with a smile for all. He entered Lincoln from Clarinda High in Clarinda. Iowa. Ambition : Become a machinist. Melville Stump . . . A hearty laugh and a good word for all describes Mel. He has gone out for football, and helped in building the 1960 homecoming emblem. Mel has been a member of Art Home- room, Dorian Art Club, and was the head of the Art Staff. Mel also helped paint the art murals. He has served on Student Council and was a member of the Judicial Committee, and served as a Hall Monitor. He has been on the honor roll, and has received eight merit art awards. In 12A he was on the Informal Com- mittee. Ambition: Attend Northeast Mis- souri State Teachers College and study art. John Milton Taber . . . John ' s intelligence led him to re- ceive honorable mention in the Na- tional Merit Scholarship awards. He also received an English achieve- ment award. While at Lincoln, John has been on the honor roll, in Stu- dent Council, and has also been a monitor. During his 12A semester he served on the Class Day Committee. Ambition: Attend State University of Iowa. Richard Grant Thomas . . . Quiet is a word that best describes Grant, (irant has participated in spring track and is a member of the Naval Reserve Unit. His hobbies in- clude bowling and basketball. Dur- ing his 12 A semester he served on the Cap and Gown Committee. Ambition: Attend college. Marvin I •«• Thomason . . . Marv has distinguished himself and his school by being an outstanding athlete and student leader. He was the city diving champion of 1961. He received three letters in swim- ming, three in track, and one let- ter in football. He was elected to the office of Chief Justice in the Student Council, in which he has been a member for five semesters. He has also served on the organiza- tion committee for the lettermen ' s club in Student Council. Marv has been a member of Madrigal, Chorus, Glee Club, and All-State Chorus. He served on the Prom Committee dur- ing his 12 A semester. Ambition: To major in business ad- ministration at Drake. Sharelle Arlee Thornton . . . Sherry, as she is better known, en- tered Lincoln from North in June, 1959. While at Lincoln she has been in Pep Club, Girls Club and Drill Team. She has also been a money taker in the noon movie. She served on the Prom Committee. Ambition: To enter beauty school or nurses training. Kenard D. Tomlinson . . . Ken entered Lincoln from Hartford High School in Hartford. Iowa. At Lincoln, Ken has been a hall moni- tor and during his 12A semester he served on the Commencement and Announcement Committee. Ambition: To own a business of my own. Nancy Ann Toomer . . . A friendly girl with lots of pep is Nancy. She has been on Gym Staff, Homemaking Staff and also Leaders Club. Nancy has also been in crafts. She served on the Class Day Commit- tee during her 12A semester. Ambition: To be a social worker in the field of rehabilitation for •hildren. -28-

Marvel Ashby Welch . . . Sincere and good natured are the adjectives that describe Marvel. With her artistic ability she has helped design the homemaking bulletin boards and show case. In 11-A she was on the honor roll and in 12-A was on Commencement Announce- ments and Homemaking Staff. Mar- vel ' s hobby is collecting rare coins. Ambition: To attend beauty school. Judy Evelyn Weston . . . Judy is a friendly girl who came to Lincoln in seventh grade from Jefferson. In her senior year she was on the (let-Together Committee. She was in Rainbow for two years and her hobbies include bowling and dancing. Ambition : To become a secretary. Bradford Wayne Wilkerson . . . A sense of rhythm and natural mus- ical ability have earned Brad a pro- minent position with The Strikes, Lincoln ' s combo. Brad won a place in the state mechanical drawing contest at the 1960 Veisha. In 12A, Brad was on the Informal Commit- tee. Ambition: Take mechanical engineer- ing at Iowa State University. Larry Eugene Wilson . . . Larry entered Lincoln from Waukee High where he participated in bas- ketball. Boys Chorus, and Mixed Chorus. Ambition: Attend a trade school. Ann Jane Woods . . . Ann is an intelligent girl with a top personality. Ann came to Lin- coln from Norwalk in 11th grade where she was a member of Student Council and Glee Club, and received a letter for being a cheerleader there. Ann is a member of the Pep Club, Leaders Club, and Future Teachers. She has been a broadcaster at KDPS and was in the school play, Design for Murder. She has worked in the counseling room and is a past worthy advisor of Rainbow. Ann be- longs to M.Y.F. and her hobby is bowling. During her 12A semester she served on the Banquet Commit- tee. Ambition: To attend Central Col- lege. Larry Woods . . . Larry entered Lincoln from Cedar Rapids High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. While there, he participated in track, Concert Choir and band. At Lincoln, he has been in band, Roys Glee Club, and Senior Chorus, and was in the KDPS Christmas pro- gram. Larry went out for wrestling and received two letters in the sport. Outside of school Larry is a member of the Christian Endeavor Youth Group. Ambition : Attend Colorado State Teachers College. Margaret Ann Yanasak . . . Margaret ' s musical ability won her first place in the Iowa Accordian Band Festival. At Lincoln she has been in band and pit band for four years. Music doesn ' t mon opolize her activities however, for she has been on Office Staff, Future Teachers, Student Council, Service Committee, Girls Club, and still had time to be back page editor of the Greenhorn, and make up editor of the Senior Rail. Margaret has been on the hon- or roll for five semesters and is a National Poetry Contest winner. She served on the Informal Committee during her 12A semester. Ambition: To go to Drake and major in elementary education. Elaine Elizabeth Yancy . . . A friendly manner, and a pleasant smile helped Elaine to become elected secretary of the senior class. Elaine came to Lincoln from North. She has been on Drill Team, honor roll, Student Council, and Secretarial Staff, in which she was Secretary- Treasurer. Ambition : Go to Central and become an elementary teacher. Not Pictured Gerald V. Hatfield . . . Gerald came to Lincoln during his junior year from Indiana High School. His hobby is cars and his favorite sports are hunting and fish- ing. Ambition: Become a forest and wild- life commissioner. Not Pictured Bill Lawless . . . Quiet and happy are the personal traits of Bill. He was on the honor roll twice and went out for baseball while at Lincoln. During his spare time he likes to fish and hunt. Ambition : Become a conservation officer.
