Sherie Kay Kinkki . . . Sherie is a rare combination of beauty and intelligence, and has held many offices while in school. Among these are: president of Sec- retarial Staff, historian of Girls Club, and president of Junior Stu- dent Council in ninth grade. Sherie has also taken part in Drill Team. Secretarial Staff and has received recognition for being on the honor roll. In her senior year she was chosen co-editor of the feature page for the Greenhorn and editor of th«- Senior Railsplitter, and served as chairman of the Informal Commit- tee. Outside of school she was a member of Rainbow. Ambition: Become a legal secretary. Janice Louise Kline . . . Witty and full of life marks the personality of Janice who came to Lincoln from Tech in her sophomore year. While attending Tech she was a member of Student Council, Pep Club, Leaders Club and was on the tennis team. At Lincoln she be- longed to Leaders Club, Pep Club, Future Teachers, Big Sister, Banquet Committee and was a monitor. In Junior Achievement she was chosen vice-president. She has contributed to the chemistry and speech classes on Saturday. Ambition: Attend college, taking a liberal arts course. Lynda Lenore Lafferty . . . Lynda ' s happy spirit came to Lin- coln from North in her junior year. At North, she was a member of the tumbling team, Girls Glee Club, and the Concession Committee. At Lin- coln, she participated in golf. Mer- maids, Girls Glee, Leader ' s Club and was homeroom representative for the Girls Club. She was cap- tain of the Flag Twirlers and was chosen by the January class to lead them on Class Day. Ambition: Attend I.B.M. School. Verna Dellaine Langham . . . Large chestnut eyes and a pleasing smile are traits of Verna ' s. She be- longed to Junior Achievement and was secretary of her Junior Achievement Company. She was a member of the Senior Choir, Girls Glee Club, and served on the Ban- quet Committee. Ice skating and swimming are Verna ' s favorite sports and she enjoys photography. Ambition : Become a good secretary. James Curtis Lassaux . . . Jim ' s friendly manner and smile has won him many friends at Lincoln. During his senior year Jim helped on the Homecoming Symbol and was a member of the Prom Committee. He is a member of the Road Knights Hot Rod Club. Ambition: Attend college and be successful. Shirley Ann Lavia . . . A hearty laugh and twinkling eyes are characteristics of Shirley. She has participated in Girls Glee Club and was a monitor. She belonged to Girls Club, has worked on the Rail- splitter, and served on the Banquet Committee during her senior year. Shirley ' s hobbies include dancing, bowling, and swimming. Ambition : Become a successful model. David Wayne Lawrence . . . Wayne is known for his pleasing personality. He was on the honor roll in the fall semester. He be- longed to Distributive Education class, which is a new idea that was brought to Lincoln this year. Among his favorite hobbies are bowling and cars. Ambition: Attend Simpson College. Darla Ann Locke . . . A demure smile and happy spirit be- longs to Darla. She was a member of the Girls Pep Club, and was secretary-treasurer of the Distribu- tive Education Club of America. She served on the senior Get Together Committee and has been on the honor roll in the Railsplitter. Bowling is her favorite pastime. Ambition: Enter the retailing field. Theresa Ann Loffredo . . . Her beautiful brown eyes and quiet ways are definite characteristics of Theresa. During her senior year she was nominated for treasurer of Student Council, in which she has served three semesters, she also served on the Class Day Committee. She has participated in many of the radio and speech projects, and was secretary of the Radio Club. She has a continued high grade average, and received honorable mention on the honor roll. Ambition: Become a dental assistant. Terry Lee Loomis . . . Through Terry ' s warm conservative way, he has made many friends at Lincoln. He has participated in wrestling for one year and was on the Cap and Gown Committee. Dur- ing his senior year he was part of the City Wide Disaster Drill. Out- side of school he belonged to the M.Y.F. of his church. Terry plans to major in architecture while in the Army after graduation. Ambition : Become an architect. 21 —

Dixie Lee Jeffries . . . Dixie ' s happy, energetic personality has won her many friends at Lin- coln. Dixie was on Library Staff and was in Pep Club, and Future Teach- ers. She belonged to the Finance Committee and was a homeroom rep- resentative of the Girls Club. Dixie belonged to the Senior Student Coun- cil and during her senior year she was elected as secretary. She was the circulation manager of the Sen- ior Railsplitter and served on the Banquet Committee. Ambition: Attend Drake and major in elementary education. Lois E. Jewell . . . Lois ' happiness and smile are known throughout the halls of Lincoln. Dur- ing school she has participated in Girls Glee Club, Junior Chorus, and served on the Informal Committer during her senior year. Lois has also belonged to Leaders Club and served on Gym Staff for four semesters. In her spare time she enjoys painting and traveling to other stat - Ambition: Attend a beauty Mhoo] and work in California. Nancy Ann Johnson . . . Nancy has contributed much to both the music and athletic departments of Lincoln. Her musical ability was shown in Senior Band, All-City Band and Orchestra, and Senior Chorus. Her athletic ability has been shown in her participation in girl ' s basket ' ball, Senior Lifesaving, and she has received two letters in tennis. She was a member of Flying Hoofs Drill Team, French Club, Latin Club, Treasury Committee, and served as a monitor. Her hobbies include tennis, swimming, photography, and horse- back riding. Ambition: Attend Drake University and major in music. Carole Jones . . . Carol can always be seen with a friendly and cheerful smile. She was a member of Girls Glee Club, Senior Choir, Future Teachers, Dorian Art Club, and served on the Banquet Committee. Outside of school she belongs to Rainbow, C.Y.F., and her church choir. Her hobbies are bowl- ing, tennis, singing and playing the piano. Ambition: Work at the New York Telephone Company. Harold Eugene Jordan . . . Taking part in Distributive Educa- tion Clubs of America keeps this friendly boy busy. He is on the Pro- fessional Committee of D.E.C.A. Club and participated in swimming. Har- old served on the Commencement Committee during his senior year. His hobbies include woodcraft and golf. Ambition: Attend Drake University and study business administration. Linda Kae Joss . . . Pretty, blue eyed, with a charming personality brings to mind Jossie. She has participated in two school assemblies as a project of radio class and broadcasted at KDPS. She was a hall monitor and a member of Gym Staff, Girls Club and served on the Class Day Committee. She portrayed the part of Lois Graves in Lincoln ' s school play, Junior Miss. Her favorite hobby is danc r ing. Ambition: Attend I modeling school in the East. Karen Marquerite Keefer . . . Karen adds a spark of spirit and happiness wherever she goes. This has been evident in her cheerleading, in which she receiv ed one monogram, and as vice-president of the Pep Club. She has held the offices of treasurer and secretary during her three years in Student Council. She was placed on the honor roll, and worked on the Get Together Committee during her senior year. Outside of school she belongs to Rainbow and Youth Fellowship. Her hobbies are bowl- ing, waterskiing. and srolf, in which sh - was on the team in her junior year. Ambition: Attend Grand View Col- lege. .Janell D. Kellar . . . Janell always has a smile and a warm hello for everyone. She has been a member of Future Teachers, Ushering and Hospitality Committee, and Commencement Announcement Committee during senior high. She also helped Mr. Pos with his coun- seling for one year. Bowling is one of her many hobbies. Ambition: Become a successful re- ceptionist. Marilyn Lee Kemp . . . Marilyn has a friendly smile and disposition. She has served as treas- urer of the Student Council, presi- dent of the French Club, and was on the Prom Committee. She be- longed to the Nurses Staff, Drill Team and Leaders Club. Marilyn was chosen editor of the Greenhorn and Senior Railsplitter during her senior year. She likes to bowl and swim in her spare time. Ambition : Attend Iowa Lutheran Hospital and take nurses training. Joan Marie Kime . . . Her energetic spirit is known by all at Lincoln. She has been on the honor roll for four straight years, and served on the Stenographic Committee during her senior year. She is a member of the Luther League and has served as secretary. In her spare time she enjoys danc- ing. Ambition: Become a private secre- tary. 20 —

Sharon Louise Loughry . . . A smile and twinkling eyes are among Sharon ' s assets. She WBM recording secretary for the Future Nurses Club, belongs to the Pep Club, and has served three semesters on the (lym Staff. She has received honorable mention on the honor roll, and was on the Banquet Committee. Outside of school she is secretary of the B.Y.P. in Church. Ambition: Attend Iowa Methodist Hospital. Robert Owen Lumsden . . . A better personality than Hob ' s can- not be found. He has participated in football, basketball, and baseball : lettering in basketball and baseball. He was a member of the Hoys ' Glee Club, Senior Chorus, and the Boys ' Quartet. He has served on Student Council, was a member of the Lin- coln Howling League, and was on the Prom Committee. His hobbies are bowling and golf. Ambition: Attend Simpson or Drake and major in business administration. Dennis Clyde Luttrell . . . Dennis is known for his scholastic ability. This was shown when he placed on the honor roll four times. He was a Lincoln hall monitor for three years and served on the In- formal Committee in his senior year. He is interested in collecting guns and swords, and he belongs to The Antique Automobile Club. Ambition: Attend Drake and study law and business. Gene Albert Mangold . . . Gene entered Lincoln from Manhat- ten High School in Manhatten, Kan- sas, where he was in track and foot- ball. At Lincoln, Gene has been out for track, baseball, and foot- ball. In 12A he was on the Class Day Committee. Ambition: Major in civil engineer- ing at Iowa State College. Lanny G. Marquis . . . Although Lanny is a quiet lad, he has a top personality. At Lincoln he has participated in junior high track, and served on the Get-To- gether Committee. Ambition: Join the navy. .lerald L. Marturello . . . With a natural ability for sports, Jerry has brought Lincoln much honor. He has participated in foot- ball, basketball, and baseball, re- ceiving two letters in football and basketball, and three letters in base- ball. Jerry was chosen for the sec- ond all-city baseball team. Jerry has been on the honor roll, and was in service homeroom. One of his big- gest thrills was being chosen Home- coming King of I960. He also was a member of the Informal Committee and bowled for the Abe ' s Bowling League. Ambition: Attend :i trade school. Dorla Rae Mason . . . This attractive blond hailed from Central High School in Madison, Wisconsin. She has been a member of Nurses Staff, Mermaids and Sen- ior Life Saving. She participated in Drill Team, Leaders Club, Pep Club, C.Y.O., and was on the golf team. In her senior year she helped make the 1960 Homecoming Emblem and served on the Informal Com- mittee. Dorla represented Lincoln at Drake Career Day. Ambition: Become a successful sec- retary. Mary Jane McCarthy . . . Jane is a quiet girl but has served her school faithfully. She partici- pated in tennis, has been on Office Staff, Homemaking Staff, Pep Club, and Senior Student Council. She was on the Financial Committee of Girls Club, and also served on the Hospitality and Usher Committee. In her 12 A semester she was on the Banquet committee. Ambition: Become a teacher, and also travel to Norway. Tom Gene McMahon . . . Tom has a mind for sports and an ear for music. He has been out for baseball and football. He has been a member of Senior Chorus, Boy ' s Glee Club, and also has participated in speech. He was a gym leader and belongs to the Y.M.C.A. During his 12A semester he served on the Get-Together Committee. Ambition: To go into the Marines and then to business college. Charles Kdward Mettler Artistic ability has won Chuck seven gold keys and ten honorable mentions. In addition to being treasurer of Dorian Art Club, he has also served on Art Staff, Dorian Art Club, and Student Council. Chuck has been out for football for three years and has received two letters. He helped make the I960 homecoming emblem ; and outside of school he bowls on the Abe ' s II team for the high school bowling league. Ambition: To attend the Art Insti- tute of Chicago and major in com- mercial art. — 22 —
