Sandra Sue Cain . . . Throughout the halls of Lincoln Sandy is known for her witty per- sonality. She has served on the Get Together Committee and as a moni- tor. During her senior year she was chosen glossy editor of the Senior Railsplitter. In her leisure time she collects records. Ambition: Become a successful re- ceptionist. James Albert Caligiuri . . . Jim, a tall, dark, and handsome boy, came to Lincoln in 12 B from Wau- kee High School. There he was a member of both the Mixed Chorus and Boys Chorus. At Waukee he al- so belonged to the Hobby Club, Cam- era Club and participated in base- ball at Lincoln. He has served on the Get Together Committee. Ambition: Attend college. Linda L. Chamberlin . . . Music, studies and a smile for every- one keeps Linda busy. Her high scholastic ability was proven by her being placed on the honor roll for two years. Linda was accompanist for the Senior Choir, the Boys Glee Club, and the Madrigal singers. She also has played the organ for special assemblies. She belonged to Futu it- Teachers, Latin Club, Y-Teens, and served on the Banquet committee. Outside of school she enjoys playing the piano and the organ, and swim- ming. Ambition: Attend Drake, major in music education, and then become a teacher. .inda Mae Clark . . . Her gift of conversation has won her many friends. While at Lincoln she has been in Girls Glee Club, Junior and Senior Chorus and has served as secretary of both choruses. She has been on the honor roll, Pep Club, and Publicity Committee of the Girls Club. During her senior year, she was in the Drill Team and on the Informal Committee. In her spare time she likes to play the piano. Ambition : To study music and busi- ness administration. Sharon Arlene Clark . . . With enthusiasm and a warm per- sonality, Sharon has contributed much to Lincoln. She was president and vice-president of the Secretarial Staff, and a member of Future Teachers. She was in the Junior and Senior Chorus and also the Girls Glee Club. During her senior year she was circulation manager of the Railsplitter and worked on the Stenographic Committee. She was chosen by the 12A journalism class to represent them in the Younker ad. Ambition: Become a legal secretary. Dale Lawrence Coffman . . . Dale is quiet yet friendly with every- one. He has served as a hall moni- tor for four years, and he partici- pated in the City Wide Disaster Drill in his senior year. His hobby is working on motors. Ambition: Attend Iowa State and be- come an engineer. Ivan H. Coldwell . . . Ivan is a very friendly person with musical interests. He has served Lincoln by being in Orchestra for three years and in his senior year he served on the Cap and Gown Committee. His hobbies are photo- graphy and bowling. Outside of school he participates in the Grace Baptist Y.F.C. Ambition: Study law at Drake. Carrie Ann Cole . . . Carrie, with her lively personality came to Lincoln from Colfax in her senior year. While she attended Col- fax she participated in basketball. Mini soft hall. At Lincoln she belonged to Office Staff, Library Staff. Mixed Chorus, and the Get Together Com- mittee. Outside of school Carrie be- longs to 4-H. Her hobby is collecting stuffed and china dogs. Ambition: Become a secretary Linda Gene Copic . . . Linda can always be found laugh- ing, and having fun. She partici- pated in tennis, Girls Glee Club, Senior Chorus, and served on the Class Day Committee. Outside of school she is a member of Youth Fellowship and Junior Achievement. In her leisure time she enjoys swim- ming and tennis. Ambition: To make a career of busi- ness administration. Pat A. Cord . . . Pat ' s ability to bring laughter every- where he goes marks him as the top comedian at Lincoln. His favorite sports are football and track in which he has taken part for two years, and received one monogram for football. In twelfth grade he worked on the Homecoming symbol, and served on the Treasurer Commit- tee. Ambition : Attend Missouri State Teachers College. — 15-

Marilyn Ora Brightwell . . . Marilyn ' s happy spirit, and musical ability have been a credit to Lincoln. She played in the Senior Hand, Pit Hand, and was chosen for the All- City Hand. Brig h ty belonged to the Pep Club, Student Council, Leaders Club and served on the Informal Committee. Outside of school she belonged to M.Y.F. and Rainbow in which she received her gold wreath for attendance last year. Ambition: Attend I.B.M. and become a secretary. Palt Host ' Brockman . . . Patty has that Irish smile and laughter that is known so well. She was chosen vice-president of the Secretarial Staff during her senior year, secretary of homeroom 105, and organization co-editor of the Senior Railsplitter. She has received honorable mention on the honor roll, belonged to the Office Staff, Home- making Staff, and was on the Get Together Committee. Patty enjoys dancing, bowling and swimming. Ambition: Work at Hell Telephone Company. Eleanor (). Brown . . . Eleanor ' s perky, peppy spirit is known by all. She has served on Junior and Senior Student Council and Homemaking Staff for two se- mesters. She was a member of the Drill Team, Mermaids, and the Pep Club. During her senior year she was on the Commencement Commit- tee. Her hobbies include dancing and swimming. Ambition: Become a secretary. Bonny Jean Browning . . . Bonny has that spark that keeps things alive and is a definite addi- tion to Lincoln ' s school spirit. Bonny has participated in Drill Team, Leaders club and Pep club. In her senior year she was chosen sketch co-editor of the Senior Railsplitter, helped on the 1960 Homecoming symbol, and served on the Prom Committee. Outside of school she is in Rainbow and in her spare time she plays the piano, teaches swim- ming, and ice skates. Ambition : Become a secretary. Barbara Kay Burchfield . . . Barbara ' s happy spirit highlights her personality. She was president and vice-president of the Future Nurses Club. She belonged to the Future Nurses Staff, Red Cross Committee, Student Council, and was on the Get Together Committee. She was chosen organization editor of the Senior Rail Staff during her senior year. Barbara participates in Mermaids, Pep Club, tennis and was a Y-Teen leader. Her hobbies include skating, swimming, and tennis, also she en- joys sewing and makes many of her clothes. Ambition : Attend Mercy Hospital for nurses training in Des Moines. Frank Allen Bures . . . Frank represented Lincoln in drama, golf, and music in an outstanding way. He has been on the honor roll continuously, and received a letter of commendation in the National Iftrfl Scholarship competition. He has been a Hawkeye State representative and an American Field Service candidate for the New Zealand Program. He participated in golf for three years in which he received two letters, and served on the Banquet Committee. He belonged to the All-City Band, and had the honor of being clarinet soloist in the 1960 All State Or- chestra. Ambition: Attend Drake and Illinois and study music. Bonnie Jean Burgett . . . A shy, sweet manner describes Bon- nie. In school she belonged to the Ciirls Glee Club and Stenographic Committee. Outside of school she be- longed to the Overcomers in Church, in which she served as president and secretary. She enjoys reading, and her hobbies are swimming, and skat- ing. Ambition: Attend Open Bible Col- lege. Robert Leonard Burns . . . Bob has been an all-around athlete during his years at Lincoln. He has shown this by participating in bas- ketball for four years and has par- ticipated in baseball for three years and received two monograms. He was a gym instructor at Lincoln, and the Y.M.C.A. Bob was on the honor roll and has served as a moni- tor. His hobby is baseball. Ambition: Attend Iowa State Teach- ers College, and become a successful coach. Carmene Kay Busrh . . . Carmene is little but mighty in her many activities. She was a member of Future Teachers, Leaders ' Club, and has placed on the honor roll. She was a member of Lincoln ' s marching and concert band. Out- side of school she participated in the Horizon Club, a Dixieland Combo, the C.H.I.X., and teaches accordion. Ambition: Attend L.B.S.C. or Drake and major in music and secondary education. Robert Noel Byg . . . A smile on his face and a paint brush in his hand describes Bob. He has served in the Art Service Home- room, and the Dorian Art Club, in which he served as treasurer. Bob has received seven gold keys and seven honorable mention ' s in the Scholastic Art Awards. He designed the Younker Ad and has received a D.M.A.C. scholarship to the Art Center. He received an honorable mention in the 1960 Handicapped Poster Contest, and plans to sub- mit a portfolio to Iowa State Teach- ers College for a possible four year scholarship. Outside of art he has participated in tennis for three se- mesters. He received the key for the June Class and worked on the Com- mencement Committee. Ambition: Attend college and major — 14-

Jud Ann Cowie . . . Judy ' s friendliness and cleverness placed her in many important of- fices. She served as president of Girls Club, Office Staff, chairman of the Program Committee of the Girls Club, secretary of homeroom, and columnist of the Railsplitter. Judy has also participated in Junior and Senior Chorus, Girls Glee Club, Radio and Speech. Office Staff, Stu- dent Council for three semesters, and tennis. During her senior year she was chosen a cheerleader in which she received a letter, and she served on the Banquet Committee- Her fa- vorite hobbies include swimming, bowling, and playing tennis. Ambition: To graduate from college. Dennis Albert Crawford . . . Dennis has contributed much to Lin- coln through his artistic ability. He has received one gold key and one honorable mention, and entered the Scholastic Art Contest this year. He has been on the honor roll twice, and served on Class Day Committee. In sports Dennis has participated in baseball, and bowling. Archery, and art crafts are Dennis ' hobbies. Ambition: Attend Iowa State Uni- versity. Gary Dean Crees . . . Gary ' s witty and friendly disposition marks him as an AU-American boy. He has contributed much to athletics by participating in football, basket- ball, and baseball. He received one monogram in each sport and was chosen co-captain of the basketball team. He received honorable mention on the honor roll and was chosen for the Younker ad and cap and gown picture. He was a Homecoming at- tendant and sports editor of the Senior Railsplitter. During his senior year he had the honor of being chosen vice-president of his class. Ambition: Attend Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. Nelson L. Cunningham . . . Scholastically and athletically, Nel- son is tops. For four years, he has been on the honor roll. He placed ninth in the Iowa State Drafting Contest, and the Kiwanian of Feb- ruary. He was president and treas- urer of the Latin Club for two se- mesters, Y.F.C. Club, and served on the Baccalaureate Committee in his senior year Nelson served in Stu- dent Council for two years and was candidate for both president and vice-president. He participated in wrestling, cross country running, and track. He received three mono- grams for cross country, and two for track. Ambition: Attend Wheaton Bible College, the S.U.I.. and become a medical missionary. Barbara Lee Curley . . . Barb has contributed much pep, drive and school spirit to Lincoln. She received two monograms in cheerleading, and during her senior year she was chosen captain. She belonged to Pep Club, Leaders Club, Social Committee, and the Prom Committee. Barb was a member of the Senior Chorus and was selected for Madrigal and All-State Chorus. She received honorable mention in the Hallmark Art Award and be- longed to the Dorian Art Club and the Art Staff. She also represented Lincoln for the Younker Teen Board. Her biggest thrill was being a 1960 Homecoming Attendant. Ambition: Attend Oklahoma City University. Allen L. Dickes . . . Intelligence and leadership blended together has placet! Allen in the finals of the National Merit Scholar- ship test. Allen has been on the hon- or roll three years and has served on the Commencement Committee. He was chosen for the high office of president of the Student Council during his senior year, and was also president of the Latin Club. He has participated in sports and has re- ceived a letter in spring track and cross country. Ambition : Attend I.S.U. and major in chemical engineering. James Philip Diemer . . . Jim ' s swimming ability has con- tributed much to Lincoln. He has participated in swimming and track and has received two monograms in each. He belonged to Senior Band and was a member of the Banquet Committee. Among his favorite hob- bies are swimming and ice-skating. Ambition: Attend Drake University and major in education. Antoinette DiSalvo . . . Sincere and understanding are Toni ' s character traits. She has participated in Girls Glee Club, and Junior Chorus. She was a member of Lead- ers Club, Informal Committee, Of- fice Staff and served on the Execu- tive Board of the Girls Club. Toni ' s hobbies include swimming and bowl- ing. Ambition : Attend Americana Beau- ty School. Betty Jeane Doughman . . . While in school Betty has repre- sented Lincoln very proudly, being a D.E.C.A. student at Younkers. She served on the Commencement An- nouncement Committee in her senior year. Outside of school she belonged to Rainbow and enjoys bowling, swimming, and ice-skating. Ambition: Attend a beauty school. John E. Dowell . . . John ' s friendly attitude toward ev- eryone has made him very popular at Lincoln. He has participated in wrestling and football in which he received two letters. In his senior year he was on the Prom Commit- tee. Ambition: Attend Northwest Mis- souri State College.
