Sandra McNally . . . An attractive little jfirl with a win- ninif smile describes Sandra, better known to all her friends as Sandy. This busy lass has received three letters in tennis, she belongs to Nurse ' s Club and she has been a faithful member of Leader ' s Club where she served on the staff. Sandy can be seen with Janet Irwin, Dar- lene Simmons, Norma Murchison. Diane Devin, Mary Mazza. Dian Evans and the rest of the KauK- She claims her biprRest thrill was «oix K to Rock Island for a vacation. The journalism department has been for- tunate to have this fine girl f )» ' their proof editor of the newspaper. Sandra has served three semesters on student council. Ambition: To become a nurse and make as many people happy as i)os- sible. Andrea Kay Miller . . . You hear music in the air? ' Andy is sure to be around. This very tal- ented girl ' s hobbies and talents are playing the piano and baking. Music- ally inclined, she has been a member of senior chorus for three years. Madrigal three years, |)articipated in All-State Chorus and accompanies the senior chorus and glee clubs. Andy says her biggest thrill was singing with 1000 students in the All-State Chorus. Andy is not all music, she belongs to Latin Club, Future Teachers and homemaking staff, in which she was vice president of F.T.A. and secretary of Homemak- ing staff. Coming out of mu s i c homeroom, where she has been a member for three years, Andy can be seen with Karla, Sharon, Julie, Sharon. Karen and Cathy. Ambition: To live a happy, loving life with my family in the presence of (Jod. Joyce Ann Miller . . . Joyce has been a loyal Lincolner since she came here in seventh grade from Park Avenue School. This nice girl with short black hair and a sweet personality has been an active and faithful member of Leaders Club and Joyce was also out for tennis. She was chosen as a hall monitor. She can usually be seen with Judy N., Carolyn L., Kay N.. Sue S.. Sue M., and Lynda L. Skat- ing, swimming and painting are a few of Joyce ' s hobbies while she claims her only talent is sewing. Joyce says her greatest thrills were receiving her car and graduation. Ambition : To live a happy and suc- cessful life. Susan Jayne Milligan . . . This peppy blond came to Lincoln from Marshall High School in Min- neapolis. She attended Lincoln in tenth grade and returned in 12A to graduate with her class. While at- tending Marshall, she was student director of the senior class play, member of Hlue-Tri and the youth center. Her talents include twirling a baton and commuting between Minneapolis and Des Moines. Susie can be seen with Peggy, Penny, Caro- lyn, Carol, and Sharon. She has served on student council at Lincoln for one semester and was on the Red Cross committee. She was also a member of Leaders Club. Susie ' s biggest thrill was returning to A.L.H.S. to graduate. Ambition : To become either a home- making teacher or a beautician. Susan Jane Morey . . . Sue is a lively young lady who can be seen around Lincoln with Kay, Janice, Janet, Sharon, Lynda, Joyce and Madeline. Sue ' s hobbies are swimming, horseback riding and bowling. She al.so went out for ten- nis. Sue was honored by receiving a certificate when she was in crafts. This busy girl is in French Club where she holds the office of secre- tary. She claims her talents are yet to be discovered, while her biggest thrill is yet to come. When Sue lived in Indianola. she participated in the pep club. Y-Teens and she belonged to Future Homemakers of America. Ambition : To be hai py and have many friends. Edward L. Morgan . . . This lad is better known to his many friends as Ed. Auto mechanics and mechanical drawing rate high as Ed ' s favorite subjects while Mr. Ator is his favorite teacher. While at Lin- coln. Ed was a member of the swim- ming team for which he received one letter. He can be seen with Jim, John, John and (lary. Edward has many hobbies but the two he enjoys most are cars and hunting. He says his biggest thrill is still in the future. Ambition: To get a better car. Ronald Arthur Moyle . . . A nice looking lad with a wonderful personality, a lot of fun to be with, describes none other than Ronnie. Much of Ron ' s time is spent bowl- ing, swimming and hunting. While in school, he faithfully served on the get together committee, one of this busy boy ' s many activities. Mr. Hoffman seems to be Ronnie ' s favor- ite teacher and art is his favorite subject. It seems Ron ' s biggest thrill is yet to come. Russell, Pete, Ron- nie, Hob and Chuck are just a few of the many friends that Ronnie can be seen with. .Ambition : To live a happy and suc- cessful life and make those close to me i roud. Norma Jean Murchison . . . Norma can almost always be found wearing a smile or laughing out loud. Her hobbies are too numerous to mention and her only talent seems to be keeping her high grade average of 1.5. She says her biggest thrill was going to (Jermany as a foreign exchange student. She can be seen with Carole, Eileen. Darlene, Dian, Bev, Sandy, Sharon and the rest of the gang. Norma has served on stu- dent council for four semesters and as secretary in her 12A semester. Heing president and secretary of Future Nurses and co-chairman of Latin Club have kept her quite busy. Co-editor of the feature page is just another of her many jobs. Norma enjoys tennis and she has received one letter in this sport. Ambition : To be a gtK)d R.N. filling many lives with happiness each day. Maria Nadler . . . Marie ' s coming to the United States from Yugoslavia was her biggest thrill. While taking up various hpb- bies such as bowling, dancing and skating, Marie can be seen with Judy. Karen, Sharon. Anj, Sandy and Jeanne. Laying no claim as to being the greatest athlete, Marie plays tennis and does a fine job of it. Taking part in activities such as girls glee club for five semesters, belonging to Junior Achievement for a year and being a gym leader has kept Marie very busy. Marie has had two honors at Lincoln, being on the honor roll and being in honor study hall. Marie claims her talents are hidden. Ambition: To lead a happy and suc- cessful life. Jacqueline Collene Nelson . . . A bright smile and a friendly hello can be connected with Jackie. Al- ways making new friends but keep- ing the old ones, she can be seen with Judy, Pat, S a m m i e , Chuckie, and the rest of her crowd. Taking time out from friends she takes up hobbies of deep interest such as talking, eating and paying bills. Jackie claims no great talent but states a worthy one of keeping out of trouble. Keeping in school spirit she has served two semesters on student council. Jackie ' s biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition: To travel then become a nurse and make all my loved ones proud of me. 26 —

Lynda Charlene hong . . . Painting and drawing are the favor- ite pastimes and talents of Shortie. The journalism department chose this pral as copy editor of the Greenhorn, later back pajfe editor, and also broadcastins: on KDPS. Lynda has had the rare honor of servintr on student council, for seven semesters, beinR in honor study hall and receiv- ing her F.N.C. pin and J. A. pin. Lynda has belonged to Future Nurs- es, Future Teachers, Leaders Club, Bible Club, and Junior Achievement. Her favorite teachers are Mr. Wood and Mr, Sanders while law and journalism are her favorite sub- ject ' s. When you see Darrell, Sue, Judy, Karen, or Jeanne you are bound to find Shortie who claims her bipTtfest thrill was receiving her ring. Ambition : To make everyone I love proud of me. Larry Ray Lovett . . . Larry is a great athlete that has been a real credit to Lincoln. He has been out for wrestling three years and has received three monograms for his athletic abilities. Larry has won the city and district champion- ship in wrestling three years in a row. Amateur radio, swimming, horses and chess are just a few of the many hobbies that keep this lad busy. I want to will my wrestling luck to John Wand and I want my troubles to go to S(iueaky, Larry stated. His talent seems to be saying the wrong thing at the right time. Jinx, Al, Denny, John and the Menz are just a few of his many friends. Ambition : To be the best at what- ever I choose to do. Lawrence Alan Luick . . . Swimming seems to be this Red Head ' s favorite sport and it keeps him very busy. ' Larry, as he is known to his friends, J.C., Bob, (ieorge and Jim, has served his school well. Larry was a member of art service homeroom for one semester, he was an active member of the Dorian Art Club and he was also fortunate to serve on student council for two semesters. Larry claims his hobbies are swimming and art while his only talent is drawing. Larry says his biggest thrill was water skiing in 56 degree weather. Ambition: To graduate from college. Danny Maldonado . . . Whenever you hear, You better be- lieve it, or see Dave, John, Denny and the rest of the boys, you know that Danny is nearby. This good looking young man has been a hall monitor for two years. He says he hasn ' t any special hobbies. He just wants to have fun and also claims he has quite a list of hidden talents. Dan says commercial law is his favorite subject while Mr. Sanders, Mr. Woods and Mr. Hoskins rate high on his list of teachers. Danny ' s pet i)eeve seems to be sloppy hair piles. Ambition : To be a great success. Terry Ward Mansfield . . . A toi athlete at Lincoln, with looks and personality that charms all, de- scribes no one but Terry. He has re- ceived two monograms in tennis and two letters in basketball. Bob, Jim and Dennis are just a few of this fellow ' s many friends. Singing has been an important part of Terry ' s life and he is a member of the senior choir. Madrigal group, boy ' s glee club and he had the honor of singing in the All-State High School Choir. He has served his school well by being a member of student council and as a hall monitor. He holds the office of president in the French Club and this busy fellow has found time to belong to the Dorian Art Club. Terry claims that being a ballroom dancing instructor in his only talent, while his hobbies include dancing and all sports. Ambition : To strive to serve my community, country and God as a worthwhile citizen. Alfanzo Angeles Martinez . . . This friendly boy has been a real credit to Lincoln ' s wrestling team. He won first place in the city wrestling tournament at 120 pounds and has received three monograms for wrestling. Al also has partic- ipated in football and track while at Lincoln. His talent is wrestling and his hobbies are eating and dat- ing. Al has been a gym leader and a hall monitor. He can usually be seen with Larry, Charles C, John W., Wayne C, and the rest of the gang. He claims his biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition : To find my place in life and make the best of it. John Masolini . . . It seems this active young man ' s greatest thrill has been receiving a two average in school. John always has a friendly smile for everyone he meets. He has been active in foot- ball and it is his favorite sport. John, when not working on school work, can usually be found working on his car. His favorite hobbies in- clude his car and watching television. Most of the June class is claimed by John to be his friends. Ambition: To join the Air Force after graduation. Elbert Lee Mason . . . This nice looking blonde lad with the friendly personality has been a loyal student of A.L.H.S. Al went out for golf and football. Guns, hunting and fishing ai ' e just a few of his many hobbies while his talents include i)laying the trumpet and target practice. Al has faithfully served on the 12 A class day com- mittee. Outside of school he belongs to the Rifle and Revolver Club and the Shark Club at the Y.M.C.A. Don, John and Max are just three of the many friends Al can be seen with. Ambition : To find a career as a navy officer. Mary Sue Mazza . . . A long black haired, attractive cheer- leader describes none other than Mary. She is usually singing or yell- ing. Yelling because she is a cheer- leader, of course. Mary was a cheer- leader in her senior year and received a letter. Other than this, Mary has been on secretarial staff. Madrigal and was in the All-State Chorus. She has also been on the honor roll and in music homeroom for three years. Mary was on student council one year and secretary of her home- room for 2 years. Although her hobby is cooking, her talents are singing and dancing. Mary is usual- ly seen around the halls with Sharon H.. Nan, Carol, Carolyn, Peggy and Sharon E. Ambition: To be a success in life. Judith Kay McFarland . . . An attractive little girl with pretty brown hair and a smile that is pleas- ing to all, describes Judith, better known to all her friends as Judy. Doug, Pam, Barb, Joyce and Joan are just a few of the many friends she can be seen with. This busy girl has been a loyal member of A.L.H.S. She has faithfully served on the secretarial staff and Judy was also chosen to be circulation manager of the school newspaper. Two of Judy ' s many hobbies are talking to Doug and dancing. She states that driving Doug ' s convertible is her only talent. It seems this girl ' s biggest thrill lies in the future. Ambition : To make my loved ones proud of me. 25 —

Kay Ann Nelson . . . This little jcirl came to us from Lincoln Hi h in Webster City. She was very active at Lincoln in the pep club of which she was secretary, the art club and also in the skat- ing club. In her junior year at Webster City she had perfect attend- ance, Kay ' s hobbies are roller skatinR and ice skating and she claims her talents are hidden. Although Kay is new at Lincoln, she has made many friends, a few of which are Sharon. Sue, Don, Joyce and Karen. Kay ' s bitfRfHt thrill was when she went with the pep club to Story City. Ambition : To make my parents proud of me and to be a model. Carolyn Ann Neuwerth . . . Usually with her mouth open, cheer- ing of course, her ears open listen- ing to other peoples troubles, de- scribes none other than one of Lin- coln ' s finest cheerleaders, Carolyn. Carolyn has been cheering for Ijin- coln for two years and has received two letters for it. She has also been out for tennis and received one let- ter in this sport. This is not the ex- tent of her contributions to Lincoln, she has been on gym staff for three years and Leaders Club. Carolyn can be seen strolling around the halls with Sharon H., Sharon E., Carol, Julie, Nannette, Mary, Penny ancl Peggy. Outside of school, Carolyn ' s time was occupied as a member of Younker ' s Teen Board and as a representative to Hawkeye (Jirls State in the summer of 1959. Ambition: To love and make a suc- cess of my life. Jeanne Newton . . . This cute girl can be seen with Sharon C, Larry, Sharon A., Karen, Judy, and the rest of the gang. Her hobbies include dancing, tennis, and bowling. Jeanne came to us from Weeks Junior High and since then she has been active in senior Y- teens secretarial staff, a glossy e li- tor of Senior Rail, and served two semesters on student council. Jeanne was also in honor study hall. Out- side of school she was in Junior Achievement and received her J. A. pin. She says all her talents are well hid len. Jeanne tells us her biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition: To lead a full life and always be happy. Judy Ann Noble . . . With a wide collection of friends and room for more, Judy is seen with Don, Joyce, Pat, Jackie C, Jackie N., Sharon and Linda. Always find- ing something to do, Judy considers her favorite pastimes swimming, .skating, dancing and horseback rid- ing. Her many activities include, homemaking staff. Leaders Club and Mermaids, Judy says her talents lie in three fields, sewing, cooking and swimming. She also served as treasurer of homemaking staff. Grad- uating from high school will be her greatest thrill. Ambition: To make those dear to me proud of me. Phyllis Elaine Noble . . . A charming rather shy lass, with pretty brown hair, describes Phyllis, known to all of her friends as Phil, This sweet girl ' s favorite hobbies are ice skating and swim- ming. Phil says her talents are very well hidden. Mr. Wood tops her list of favorite teachers, while Spanish and typing are her best liked subjects. Receiving my ring from Earl was my biggest thrill, stated Phyllis. Paulette, Roberta, Rosemary, Diane, Pearl and Janet are just a few of her closest friends. Ambition : To make my loved ones proud of me. Betty Jane Ogden . . . An attractive brunette with pretty blue eyes and a friendly personality that makes her a ball to be with, describes none other than Betty. If you hear, I don ' t care or That ' s the breaks, you ' ll know that Betty is around. This active girl has many hobbies including golf, swimming, bowling, talking, eating and being with HfK)d. She has faithfully served on the student council one semester. Betty says her pet peeve is people who think they ' re better than some- one else. Talking and chewing gum are my only talents, says Betty. Outside of school she was a member of Rainbow. Carol, Sue, Linda, Son- dra, Deanna, (lermaine and Hood are just a few of Betty ' s many friends. Her biggest thrill lies some- where in the future. Ambition: To go to college and make all my special people proud of me. Sallee Ann O ' Keefe . . . Whenever you hear the expression, All the time, you ' ll be sure to find Sallee. This sweet gal has served Lincoln well. Sal belonged to French Club for one semester and she has broadcast on KDPS for radio and journalism. This busy girl claims her only talent is saying the wrong thing at the wrong time and among her many hobbies are bowling, swim- ming and dancing. She says her biggest thrill is yet to come and her many friends will agree with that. Also, she says her favorite class is radir) and her favorite teacher is Mr. Sanders. Sallee can be seen with Joan, Mona, Judy, Jo, Marie, Vicky and Carolyn. Ambition: To live a long and happy life and always do what is right. Ramona Ortega . . . This lively little girl, known as Mona to her friends, can usually be seen around school with Joan. Sallee, JoAnn and Vicky. Mona, who says that her talents are hidden, can generally be found bowling, playing tennis, swimming or dancing. She s«Mved on student council for one semester. Outside of school, she is an active member of LULAC, which stands for League of United Latin American Citizens, In this organiza- tion Mona was voted to be an at- tendant to the Queen of Lulac in September 1959, Mona says that art is her favorite subject and Mr. Hoff- man is her favorite teacher. Her big- gest thrill is yet to come. Ambition: To become an interior decorator. Dennis Robert Ortlund . . . This friendly boy came to us from Franklin Junior High, He has been active in football, wrestling, and spring track. He received a mono- gram in football and one in wres- tling, Dennis belongs tt) the F,C,Y.F. church organization and claims his hobbies are stamp col- lecting and eating. His biggest thrill was watching the Rose Bowl Parade from Colorado Boulevard, Dennis ' talents include talking and wrestling, Dennis usually can be seen with Carl H, Nelson C, and the boys around Lincoln ' s halls. Ambition : To be successful in what- ever I do. Mary Margaret Overbeck . . . A sparkling personality with a laugh like no other, belongs to Mary. Act- ing has been one of the many talents Mary possesses. She played in Sev- enteenth Summer, Letter to Lu- cerne, and Behind This Mask. She is also a member of the Play- house Workshop and has done the art work on the Junior Achievement newspaper, was on gym staff and has served on student council for one semester. In student council she was committee chairman and was a Red Cross chairman. Her talents are music, art and drama. She be- longs to Catholic Daughters of Amer- ica, Dorian Art Club and Leaders Club. Mary can usually be seen with Joyce, Toot, Joan and Nancy. Mary says her biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition: To go to Alaska with Joyce and the rest of the girls. 27 —
