Cecilia Ann Bell . . . Donna, Kay, Sharon, Donna and Betty are amonj? Cecilia ' s many friends. This sweet srirl came to Lin- coln in September of 195M from Yalita Hijfh. El Paso, Texas, where she belonged to the Latin Club for two years and pep s(iuad for one year. Since Cecilia has been here, she has served Lincoln well by beinK active in the Future Nurses Club and as a monitor. At the top of Cecilia ' s list of hobbies are swim- ming and bowlin ?. She claims living in Japan for two and a half years was her most interesting and biggest thrill. Ambition: To become a medical technologist. Angelo M. Bellizzi . . . Sonny ' s an outstanding athlete that can best be described as tall, dark an l handsome. He has partici- pated in basketball, track and base- ball. For his athletic abilities he has received two letters in football, two letters in basketball, one letter in track and one letter in baseball. Sonny says his talents are many and varied. He was an active member of service homeroom 117 and he says sports are his hobby. Graz, Bob and Denny are just a few of the many friends you can see around the halls with Sonny. This 1.5 student has ha l the honor of being nominate! to attend West Point. Sonny says this nomination was his biggest thrill. Ambition: To graduate from college aiifl to be successful. Richard J. Berkenbosch . . . A cheerful smile and a frien lly word marks the wonderful personality of this boy. Dick ' s hobbies are many but bowling, water skiing, and driv- ing around rates tops on his list. Making mistakes in bookkeeping seems to be this boy ' s chief talent. Berk is also active in church work and was elected Treasurer of Fort Des Moines Methodist Youth Fellowship. Dick has many friends, but can be seen most of the time with Leonard Sims and Mike Riley. He says his biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition: To be happy in whatever I do. Margaret Louise Bierma . . . This sparkling girl can be described very well by one word, sweetness. Her close friends Phil, Carol, Penny, Carolyn, Susie and the rest of the gang know her as Peggy. It seems Peggy ' s biggest thrill is yet to come. Her hobb.es are going to tr..ck meets (Why? I and riding around with Penny while her talent seems to be saying the wrong thing at the right time. Peggy has served Lincoln very well by being a member of student council for three semesters. Peggy has had a lot of experiences in chemistry and rates it favorite on her list of subjects and Mr. Stone tops on her list of teachers. Ambition : To be happy and suc- cessful in life. Donna Frances Brayton . . . Playing the bass clarinet for four years in our band has kept this girl busy. Donnie, as she is known to all her friends, has served Lincoln well by belonging to the Future Nurses Club, Leaders Club and Ju- nior Achievement. In junior high she served on student council for two semesters. Donna says her favorite teacher is Miss Holmes and her favorite subject is history. In school Donna can be seen with Cecilia, Donna, Sharon and Betty. Donna claims her greatest thrill will Yte graduation. Swimming, bowling ancl cooking are among Donna ' s many hobbies while playing the clarin is one of her talents. Ambition: To J e a success in whjit ever I do. Judith Lee Brown . . . Judy is a girl who is full of pep and always ready to have fun. She has been in girl ' s glee club for five semesters and was a faithful mem- ber of Leaders Club. Judy claims that she hasn ' t discovered any of her talents yet. Bowling and having fun are just a few of Judy ' s hob- bies. Outside of school Judy be- longe l to Junior Achievement where she was at one time secretary of her company. Judy can be seen with Marie. Karen, Sharon, Angie, Sandy an l Jeanne. Ambition : To make a wonderful wife to some certain one. William Earl Burress . . . Bill is one of Lincoln ' s top ath- letes with a warm i)ersonality that draws many friends around him. This young man has gone out for football and track, receiving one letter in football and two mono- grams in track. Bill ' s hobbies are all sports, while he says his biggest thrill was being able to participate in athletics. In the journalism de- partment this lad was chosen sports editor of the newspai)er. Bill also found time to be a faithful member of service homeroom for two years. He says he has no special talents but outside of schtKjl he was given honorable mention for the All-State Football Squad. If you see Art (iuile, Hon (larlock or Len Thomas around the halls you ' ll probably find Bill close by. Ambition: To always be happy and successful and take a long trip with some of the boys. Peter James Carra . . . This boy seems to have many talents, but passing all his classes is tops on his list. Pete was chosen ad- vertising manager of the Senior Rail. His hobbies include bowling, fish- ing and making money. He claims his biggest thrill will be graduation. Pete has many friends but can be seen most of the time with Ron Weddel, Ron Moyle. and Russell Cib- bel. After graduation he plans to join the Air Force for four years, after which he wants to travel and see the fifty states. Ambition: To have the cleanest and fastest car in Des Moines. Betty Ann Carlson . . . Betty is a very friendly girl who has served her school well. She came to Lincoln in eleventh grade from Clarion, Iowa. She says that writing to pen pals and music are just two of her many hobbies, while her talents include playing the piano and talking. A few of Betty ' s many friends are Donna Brayton, Cecilia Bell. Donna Smith, Sharon Fisher and Linda (Joodlaxson. She claims that her biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition : To always try my best and be myself. Patricia Ann Carter . . . Pat, as she is known to all. is a sparkling young girl with j)retty blue eyes. She came to Lincoln from St. Joseph Academy in the eleventh grade. Pat is a busy girl around sch M)l with Mermaids, Leaders Club and as a member of Miss Moroney ' s homemaking staff. In her busy day, Pat finds time for her many hobbies which include swimming, skating, horseback riding and sewing. She can usually be seen with Judy N. and any of her other friends who happen to be going her way. Pat .says her biggest thrill will be gradu- ation. Ambition: To live a rich and happy life. — 16-

Ladell Ann Abild . . . Sinffins: in tne All-State Hiprh School Chorus prove ! to be Ladell ' s bifrKest thrill. This pretty j irl with the sparkling personality, has been in Madrigal homeroom for two years and in senior chorus four years. La- dell claims that much of her time is si ent in trying to sing and losing car keys. She was in student council one year. Ladell, an honor roll stu- dent, was also a candidate for the Forei ' n Student Exchange Program. Pete, Judy, Linda and Marilyn are just a few of this girl ' s many friends, while swimming, horseback riding and ice skating are a few of her many hobbies. Ambition : To live uj) to the starid- ;n l- fh:i ' those I love set for me. Stephen Dale Alber . . . A sharp looking young man with light brown hair, blue eyes and a friendly personality describes Steve. This nice lad came to Lincoln from Army Post in seventh grade. Steve claims that eating and sleeping are his talents and hobbies. Swimming seems to be his only hobby. Outside of school Steve is an active member of DeMoIay. A few of the many pals Steve can be seen with include Dick, Roger, Al and Jack. Steve says his favorite subjects are mathe- matics and journalism while Miss Davison and Mr. Sanders rate high on his list of teachers. He claims graduation will be his biggest thrill. Ambition: To climb the stairway of success without falling. Sharon Kay Anderson . . . This charming brunette came to Lin- coln in the tenth grade from Nathan Weeks. Sharon reveals that swim- ming, bowling an l dancing are just a few of her many hobbies. She say.s that her favorite subject is journalism while her favorite teach- ers are Mr. Sanders and Mr. Hemen- way. She says her talents are well hidden although she has been an ac- tive member in the girl ' s glee club. Sharon says her biggest thrill is in the future. A few of Sharon ' s many friends are Jim, Sharon, Jeanne, Di- ane. Paula and Pearl. Ambition : To make my parents and Jim proud of me. Ronald D. Armbrest . . . This long, lean, carefree lad is known to almost everyone as Ron. He has been a top notch monitor in IIH and 12A and has done much to improve the halls during those two semesters. Ron pals around with Ron. Dale, Lanny, Bud and John. If you hear someone saying, Cool, you ' ll know Ron is around. He is usually busy model building or drawing. Ron claims his one talent is talking on the telephone and his favorite teach- er is Miss Scanlan. His biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition: To become a draftsman. Dennis Gary Arnold . . . If a deep bass voice is heard singing or giving out a yell like some wild bird, you are sure Denny is around. Denny has been a great credit to Lincoln for he has been in many ac- tivities. He participated in basket- ball and track and has received two letters in basketball and one in track and was co-captain of the basketball team. Denny ' s hobbies seem to be swimming and ice skating while his talents are sports and music. He ' s really in the music for he has been in music homeroom for three years. Madrigal three years, chorus three years, and glee club three years. He has also been on student council and received the rare honor of singing with 1000 voices in the All-State Chorus. Den- ny may be seen with Bob, Ralph, and Jo. Ambition : Graduate from college, live a good Christian life and be a success in whatever I do. I.arry Richard Baker . . . Larry is a friendly fellow with a wonderful personality and can usual- ly be seen with Bob, Clancy or Ed- wina. He has been out for football and also received a letter in this sport. Larry has many hobbies but Ixjwling seems to take up most of his free time. His biggest thrill will be graduating from high schtKil. He claims that all of his talents are well hidden. Larry has served his school well by being on student coun- cil two semesters while in senior high. He has also been a hall moni- tor. Ambition: To graduate from Drake and make that certain someone proud of me. Joyce Ann Barnard . . . Joyce is a rather shy and quiet young lady who says she has had loads of fun at Lincoln, Before, dur- ing and after school, Joyce can be seen with Roy, Carolyn, Sherry and Kay. a few of this girls many friends. Joyce claims her biggest thrill will be graduation. She also says her talents are well hidden but she enjoys doing about everything. Miss Ealy is ranked by Joyce as be- ing her favorite teacher while her favorite subject is typing. Ambition: To graduate and make my parents proud of me. Mary Jo Bates . . . Finding fault with a good steak and hitting reverse when trying to put a car in second gear, are only a few of this girl ' s talents. Mary Jo has kept busy in her senior year by be- ing organization editor of the Senior Rail and maintaining a 2 grade aver- age. She has also served on student council two semesters. Mr. Sanders rates high as her favorite teacher while Mary Jo ' s most embarrassing moment seems to have taken place at the fair last year with Marv. Mary Jo can be seen with Marv, Dian. Radine and Dixie. She claims her biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition: To have all of my plans fulfille l ; always be happy and make a certain person proud of me. Joyce Lee Beattie . . . An attractive blond lass, full of fun and sparkle describes none other than Joyce. Joyce claims that her talents seem to be hidden. She en- joys horseback riding, skating and having fun. She says her favorite teachers are Mr. Sanders and Mr. Wood. Joyce states that graduation will be her biggest thrill. She has many friends but she can be seen most of the time with Mary, Rosie, Carolyn and Diane. Ambition: To go to Alaska with Mary and the rest of the girls. Robert Jay Beck . . . There ' s never a dull moment when Bob is around. Although he is always making people laugh, under- neath he is a very sincere person. Bob. with his athletic ability, has earned three letters in basketball, two in football and three in track. He was co-captain of the basketball team and made all-city varsity. Bob al.so played the leading role in the school play Seventeenth Summer, was a candidate for homecoming king, was a member of service home- room 117 for four semesters and served on student council for four .semesters. His biggest thrills were being elected V.P. of student council and taking second place in the two mile relay team at the Drake Re- lays. Bob is seen with Eileen, Den- ny, Bliz, Bill and Jerry. Ambition: To be a happy, successful and industrious man. — 15 —

Sharon Faye Carter . . . This pretty blond came to Lincoln from Norwalk where she participated in glee club, basketball, softball. prolf and also served as a majorette, Sharon can be seen with Nancy, Diane. Pat, Karen, Janette and Kay. Her hobbies are dancing and eatin r and she says her bijjfKest thrill will be to prraduate. She claims her tal- ents are hidden. Homemakin is her favorite subject and Miss Moroney is her favorite teacher. Ambition: To become a beauty opera- tor and make my parents proud of me. David W. Caskey . . . Dave, as he is known to all his friends, enjoys all sports and has been out for football and basketball. He has also appeared in five school plays. He says his talents are well hidden and claims his most em- barrassing moment occurred after a homecoming dance in a restaurant when he discovered he had no money. During his passing periods, lunch hour and after school Dave can be seen with Danny. John and Denny. He claims his biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition : To get a good job and take a six months vacation twice a year. Larry Earl Cheer.s . . . Larry, very nice and rather quiet, came to Lincoln fiom Norwalk in his junior year. Larry has many inter- ests but the shops seem to keep him the busiest. A favorite pastime of this young man is working on cars and his favorite subject is auto mechanics. Russell Gibbel, Everett Lawrence and Doug (iraham are a few of Larry ' s many friends. Eat- ing and fixing motors are just two of this lad ' s many talents, while hunting is his favorite hobby. In the future Larry hopes to find his biggest thrill. Ambition : To become an auto me- chanic and travel. Sharon Lee Chiodo . . . Sharon is a lively girl with pretty black hair. Sharon came to Lincoln from Nathan Weeks. She has many friends which include Jeanne N.. Judy B., Karen H., Marie N. and tharon A. Sharon ' s hobbies are dancing, bowling and skating. She served on Student Council for one semester in senior high. She is also a member of Junior Achievement and Achievers Association. Sharon claims her biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition: To be a success in what- ever I do in my life. Linda Kay Chrisinffer . . . This winsome blue-eyed blond has been a real credit to Lincoln. Linda has been a member of the honor roll with a 1.5 average, a member of senior chorus for 8 years and has been busy in journalism by being sketch editor of the Senior Rail. She has also been a member of Leaders Club, hospitality and usher commit- tee, and Future Nurses. Getting to the refrigerator before Sondra, bowl- ing and swimming are her hobbies while trying to win an argument with a certain someone is her talent. Outside of school Linda is active in J. A. and Rainbow. She can be found with Sondra, Sue. Deanna, Carol, Betty and Buzz. Linda claims her biggest thrill will be attending col- lege. Ambition: To climb the stairway of success without slipping. Rosemary Williams Brown hair, brown eyes with a smile for everyone she meets, describes R xsemary. Rosie, as she is known to her closest friends which include Jake. Bert. Janet. Polly. Phil. Pearl and Diane, came from Nathan Weeks in tenth grade. She claims her fa- vorite teacher is Mr. Wood, while Spanish is her favorite subject. Out- side of schtK)!, bowling, roller skat- ing and C. Y. O. has kept this girl very busy. Rosie says she spends her full time with Jake while she claims her biggest thrill is in the future. Ambition: To be a beautician and make my parents and a certain someone proud of me. Jacklyn Lee Clark . . . Jackie. a loyal student of Lincoln, has been here since seventh grade. Her many friends include Dick, Joan. Hop. Judy and Don. She is quite a golfer and has received one letter in that sport. She also loves to bfiwi and sew, her favorite hob- bies. She belongs to Rainbow. Y-Teen and at school was a member of Leaders Club. She was feature col- umnist on the Railsplitter and held the same position on the Greenhorn staff. Jackie served on the 12B committee for the 12A tea and her biggest thrill will come in the fu- ture. Ambition : To be loved by one and liked by all. James Lee Cleveland . . . One of Lincoln ' s top swimmers and a very friendly young man describes Jim. He has served Lincoln by be- ing on the swimming and tennis teams, earning three letters in swim- ming and one letter in tennis. Jim has been on student council for four semesters and was elected jiresi- dent of the senior council. He says his hobbies are hunting, camping and water skiing. Outside of school, the Y.M.C.A. and the Flying Hoofs Club keep Jim busy. He can be seen with Bob S.. George S., Larry. Jim F., and L. T. Jim says his biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition: To graduate from college and live a happy life. Gary Ronald Coe . . . This tall, slender red head has a friendly, warm personality and a wonderful smile that is familiar to all. Gary says a few of his many hobbies include golf, bowling, hunt- ing and fishing. This nice fellow has been a real credit to A.L.H.S. as he has faithfully served as a hall monitor and also served on student council for one semester. He was in the school play, Behind This Mask and was a member of service home- room 26. (lary says the only talents he posseses is the ability to play golf and bowl. John, Bernie and Carl are just three of this boy ' s many friends. It seems that Gary ' s biggest thrill lies somewhere in the future. Ambition : To have a happy and suc- cessful life and make my special people proud of me. Wayne Dennis Cole . . . This active boy has been a member of service homeroom since tenth grade and has participated in both football and wrestling. Wayne has also been a member of the senior chorus and boys ' glee club, where his singing talent was put to good use. Outside of school Wayne belongs to DeMolay and C.Y.F. He claims his biggest thrill is yet to come. Among Wayne ' s many friends he can be seen with, are Carole. Larry and Albert. Ambition: To be hai py and success- ful. — 17 —
