We have met in the halls of a great school - ?SSte -. ■ - Vi ftt ss»-l With the words of Abraham Lincoln ' s Gettysburg Address, we take you into the lives of the students participating in the many activities. Ycu have already seen the members of the faculty for this semester and will meet the June 1957 graduat- ing class, and their class officers who are pictured below, the athletes, including four state champions, the mus- icians, the dramatists, the student governing body, the staff members that the students and teachers depend on, and the students that are preparing for their in- tended future careers. Judy Ackerlund . . . Judy hails from Phillips and can be found in H. R. 203. Mr. Pos rates as her favorite teacher while she can be seen with Darlene, Brenda, Ruth, Ellen, Ramona and the gang. Judy is a member of C.A.P., T.B.C., and T.C.G. Green Door and True Love are her favorite songs. You can always hear her saying How about that? while her talent is staying up all night at certain slumber parties. Among Jud ' s hobbies are buying doughnuts at 4:00 m the morning. Judy ' s biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition: To make the grade as an air-line hostess Judy Jean Allen . . . Judy hails from Amos Hiatt where she claims she was a good girl. This cute gal with brown hair and brown eyes says that her favorite subject is typing. She pals with Lucille, Corm, and Pat. Can be heard saying Let ' s go someplace! Judy claims that her talent is making pizza. Among her hobbies we find sewing and working on Charley ' s car. She is a member of Rainbow, and C.H. A.R.L.E.Y. Her biggest thrill was getting her ring. Her favorite songs are Don ' t Forbid Me and You Don ' t Owe Me A Thing. Her pet peeve is girls who think they are better than others. Ambition: To always make a special person happy. Sandra Louise Allen . . . Sandy comes to us from Park Avenue and is in H. R. 203. This cute gal can usually be seen with the girls in T.C.A. You can always hear Sandy saying Tell me — that ' s the way it goes. Sandra has served on junior student council and was president of office staff. Her hobbies are swim- ming, horseback riding, L.F.R.L., go- ing to Iowa City with Carlin. Sandra is a member of T.C A. and A. L. L.E.N. The Nearness Of You rates tops on her list of songs. Sandy tells us her pet peeve is copycats. Receiving her ring was her biggest thrill. Ambition: To go to Iowa U., get my M.R.S. and always have lots of fun. Larry Lee Armel . . . Larry hails from Army Post and is in homeroom 203. Miss Davison is his favorite teacher and mechani- cal drawing is his favorite subject. Larry can be seen with Carl, Jim, and John. What are you going to do? is what Larry can be heard saying. Larry is a member of A.A.U. and has earned two letters in cross country and two letters in track. He has served nine semesters in band and Moonlight Gambler is his favor- ite song. His talent is trying to play the clarinet in band. Larry ' s biggest thrill was being on the state champi- onship mile team. Ambition: To graduate from Iowa State College. David William Ash . . . Bill hails from Park Avenue and can be found in H. R. 203. Willy can usually be seen with Tom, Terry, and the boys. Mr. Hoffman and Mr. Stone rate high on his list of teachers while art and chemistry are his favorite subjects. Bill claims his talent is lying. Willy is a faithful member of Big 3 , P.A.G., T.R.E.S.S.E.L. Bill ' s biggest thrill is yet to come. Ambition: To be a big success and never worry. Duanc Edward Atcheson . . . Duane ' s favorite teacher is Mr. Sand- ers while his favorite subject is auto mechanics. He came to Lincoln from Patterson, Iowa and is now in home- room 203. Moonlight Gambler tops his list of favorite songs. Working is Duane ' s hobby. He can be seen with Butch, Gary, Bill, and Don. This guy with the brown hair has received letters in basketball and is a faithful member of W.H.R.A. He says his biggest thrill is rolling cars. Ambition: To get an office job. Janet Louise Austin . . . Janet hails from Park Avenue, has brown hair and is a member of homeroom 203. Duzzie likes all her teachers and all her subjects. She can always be seen with Linda, Carol, Barbara, and Jane and her pals in Journalism are Betty, Sharon and Carol. Janet ' s favorite expression is You better believe it. All her tal- lents seem to be hidden, and her hobbies are writing letters and going to showers. Duzzie is a faithful member of W.H.R.A., J.O.H.N., and C.J.L. and she has also served on the gym staff for one year. Her favorite song is Young Love and her biggest thrill will be graduation. Ambition: To make my parents proud of me and to have lots of friends. Susan Anne Ballard . . . Sue came to us from Howe, and now is a faithful member of homeroom 203. This cute brown haired lass has served on secretarial staff for four semesters Miss Sutter rates top on Sue ' s list of favorite teachers, while bookkeeping is her favorite subject. Sue can be seen with Jackie, Carol, Judy, and Dixie. She can be heard saying Good Grief while Young Love and Mary Ann are her favorite songs. Sue ' s clubs are F.U N. and H.A.P.P.I.N.E.S.S. and her hobbies are fishing and swimming Her talents are driving her car to school and talking in bookkeeping. People who never do, what they say they will, is Sue ' s pet peeve. Her biggest thrill will be graduation Ambition: To do good in whatever she tries and make everyone proud of her. Annette Barnard . . . In H. R. 203 we can find this cute little gal, Anne comes to Lincoln from Park Avenue. She can always be seen with Bon, R.R., Bev, and the rest of the gang. Her many services include office staff, secretarial staff, and student council. Her talent is getting embarrassed. She is a faith- ful member of J. A., T.B.C., M.C.C., L.D.G., and R.R. Anne claims kids who crack gum in class is her pet peeve. Mary ' s Boy Child, and Moon- glow rate tops on her list of favorite songs. Her biggest thrill will be graduation and the future. Ambition: To be happy and success- ful in whatever I do. John Paul Bartholomew . . . This good looking fellow comes to Lincoln from Norwalk. John can be seen with Bob, Dick, Mike, Benny, and Larry. John claims his hobbies are parties and sports. He is a mem- ber of W.H.R.A., S.L.F.C, and W.O. W. It seems John can always be heard saying Don ' t let it frost ya ' . Young Love and Blueberry Hill rate tops on his list of favorite songs. John was so-so embarrassed one Sun- day afternoon at the reservoir. He claims his only service as being stu- dent council president. He has re- ceived one letter in baseball. He claims Elvis Presley is his pet peeve. His biggest thrill will be graduation. Ambition: To graduate from college and have friends always.
