Mr. Graloau gave a slightly hlurred version of The Village Blacksmith. U Smith, Smithf, don't you get it? queried the master of ceremonies, trying to give us the high sign that Miss Mary- alyce Smith was coming on with hats and all. The Sweet Potato Kids, Mr. Cox, lVlr. Tomlin- son, and Mr. Dalhy also exhihited their dexterity on the sweet potato or ocarina, depending on your dictionary. Miss Scanlan, lilce a true colleen of Erin, came chanting out and no one recognized her for a few hewildering moments. Stassen, former Governor of Minnesota. The students chosen were Helen Neff. Gerald Vvinlcleman. Glenn lvlartin and Kenneth lVlacRae. Each student gave a three minute tall: on the sulmject, Can We Change German Youth? The remaining time period ot the half hour program was devoted to answering questions from the audience. lVliss Alice Holmes proved indispens- ahle in aiding the students with their tallcs. Radio station KRNT transcriloed the Lincoln program and lnroadcast it at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday. March 5. After this laroadcast Glenn lV1artin and Gerald Vvinlcleman competed for a laid to spealc over the BBC British transatlantic town meeting of the air.
