As 'ihis page weni' fo press Lincoln already had won ihe Norihern League crown in foorball, bas- lceiball and cross counlry. The Railspli+'I'er has been named number one paper in 'Phe ciiy. and many ofher academic, ariislic and mililary hon- ors had been received. Bui' looking back over il's firsl' hall: ceniury Lin- coln High can remember many honors which have been given lo i'rs siudenfs and alumni. ln sporls, Kenny Washingion became All-American and Fidel La Barba World Flyweighi Cham - ion. ln enierrainmeni, Presion Fos'I'er and Rob- erl' Young made 'Phe brighr Iighis. Among o+hers are: Gregory Ain larchifecll. George J. Smiih leducaiorl. Joe Mugnaini larfisrl, and David Sokol laiiorneyl . Mosi' of 'lhe physical changes came aboul' as a resull' of 'ihe big l933 earlhqualce. The original buildings on 'lhe hill were so badly damaged rhal' lhey were condemned. Much of ihe presenl' plani' was buili in +he middle '30's under rhe aegis of various New Deal agencies. ln lhe lasl' rhree years 'ihe siuclenl' body has in- creased by many hundrecls. Anoiher fhousand are expecfed in 'ihe nexi' five years. Lincoln High has had many 'Faculiy changes also, and in 'l'he lasi 'lhree years has seen ihree difierenl' principals: Mr- George J. Smi'l'h, Mr. William S. Layne. and now Mrl George V. Ingles. Truly. 'ihese have been fifiy Golden Years for fhis high school.

The Las Fiestas parades and celebrations were similar to Pasadena's Tournaments of the Roses.
