smooth rhythms of the ,lazz Band . . . watched the Varsity Players in Our Town and Growing Painsi' . . . dug the mambo-that crazy new dance step . . . campaigned wildly for our pals at election time . . . entered the no- torious Sweet Shoppe without fear and realized that it wasn't such a bad place after all-not a gangsters' side- out or an opium den-just a good place to meet friends . . . celebrated with our track boys when they brought the City Championship back home to Lincoln . . . got invited to the Prom by that gorgz'0u.f senior . . . walked into our midterm rooms without that sick feeling we previously got . . . found out that teachers are human . . loved every minute of every day. Seniors at last . . . we're important . . . how proudly we wear our badges of honor. those blue and gray buttons. Began thinking of colleges and car- eers . . . answered those mysterious summonses to the college adviser's office . . . had our senior pictures taken -what disillusionment . . . shivered through Class Night Tryouts- Linca- doonii . . . went to Landmurlg meetings. Senior Cotincil Meetings, Prom Com- mittee meetings. Commencement Com- mittee meetings . . . looked at Lincoln through rosefcolored glasses on Red Letter Day . . . bought plenty of pil- lows to the Senior Skate . . . tried to get extra senior buttons. feebly explain- ing that we lost ours . . . clowned at graduation rehearsals to cover our real feelings . . . rushed to get commence- ment tickets . . . watched those last few weeks crawl and fly at the same time . . . strolled nonchalantly into the room to take our last Regents' exam which doesnt count anyway , . . dreamed through the Prom . . . were surprised to rind how sad we felt dur' ing Commencement exercises . . . said our final farewells . . .
