A small town spirit hovered over the school and with it a certain excitement and interest. But. while these American adolescents frolicked here, grave events were sweeping over every part of the world. Wars, poverty, fascism, riots. Hoods tore at the real cities of the world. I hesc were four short years. But bloated with world | ortcnt. We are presenting to you on the following pages, not only pictures of high school graduates—but snatches torn from living headlines in living newspapers: and glimpses into the columns of our school newspaper, hour swift years, killed with jitter-hug contests and W.P.A. hunger strikes. Filled with Spanish bombardments and G.O. elections, hilled with misery and happiness. In short filled with our times and our life. You—reader, are someone in the future. Ixx k back at these years 1935. 956. 1937. 1938. 1939.

£j Uenior DEDICATION . .On the following pages of this Look you will find pictures of many boys and girls who studied in the Abraham I .incoln High School for four years—from 1935 to 1939. They wrote, read, talked, ate. romanced, argued in this school. It was in size a city of 8000; and the hoys and girls pictured here are but one part of the city—a family of over 850 memlx rs. In the lives of these young men and women. 1935-1939 will have a definite place and meaning. They will remember the time when Zebrak ran 98 yards for a touchdown, or the scene from a arsity Show when the hero tripped during his big moment, or maybe a pretty girl seen at a Friday Nite Dance, or uniform examinations, or maybe just the donkey SI ILA. mascot at the disastrous Lincoln-Madison game.
