Squadron maintenance personnel worked tirelessly on aircraft to keep themat their highest state of readiness. As work continued on the flight deck, the Medical and Dental departments not only managed their normal tasks of keeping the crew healthy, but set new speed and efficiency records for vaccinating the crew against smallpox and anthrax. The technicians in AIMD and the air wing squadrons- worked round-the-clock to keep engines and avionic components repaired and running. Combat systems and Operations departments remained ever vigilant, planning our missions! and protecting ABE and its air wing, , t ' - s l ' l t And while the airwingand flight deck crews labored to launch and recover planes, the V e rest of the ship's company trained to fight the ship, honing their Skills with firefighting and CBR attack drills.
