Eberhart, Frederick H. Turner, Dr. O. H. English, Charles W. Smith, Hon. Evelyn Glazier Henzel, Carl O. Hedner. School and liummunii Abington Township, a school district ol the third class, based on its H350 federal census population, is guided by the Board of School Directors, pictured above. The school system is directed by Dr. O. H. English. District Superintendent ol' Schools, and his assistant Ihr. Guy liberhart. 'lhere are, in this rapidly growing township, ten elementary schools, two junior high schools, and one high school. Nearing completion, a new senior high school with a capacity ol' 2000 students will be opened in September of 1956. After this, the present senior high building' will become the third junior high school. ,-Xpproximately A150 employees comprise the admin- istrative, teaching, secretarial, and custodial stall. ln- cluded in this number are specialists in guidance, psychology, speech, health, dental, physical, special, art, music, and vocational education. The teaching stall' is composed ol' FSH teachers, 57 of whom teach in Abington Senior High School. Vllllf' entire student enrollment ol .Xbington Town- ship has reached 6978, H60 of whom attend senior high school. Dr, O. H. English, Superintendent, leads the educational process of Abington Township.
