Internos It takes many people constantly working behind the scenes to transform a one-room school house with three graduates into a successful high school with a graduating class of two hundred and fifty. For over twenty years the Internos Club has served faithfully, running errands, directing visitors, and ushering at plays and commencements.. The custodians have done a fine job keeping the school in condition and supplied with its daily needs. Lunch lines move quickly with our competent staff of cafeteria helpers. “Safe and dependable” is the slogan of the bus drivers, who are always waiting to transport us to every section of the township. Doctors, nurses, and dental technicians continually check our physical condition. We are grateful to all those who keep Abington running so smoothly. Student Council Dance Committee . . . Bob Bubeck and Jane Reigart Plan Activities Just twenty years ago Abington organized its first Student Council under the presidency of Eugene Simmers. Since 1928, when the Council’s chief duties consisted of loading buses and patrolling the corridors, that organization has come a long way. This year the Council sponsored the Indian Summer Dance and the Fall Frolic to celebrate the close of the autumn sports season besides taking charge of Thanksgiving donations for the Abington Hospital, contributions for Christ Home, Christmas decorations, Christmas card distribution, Civic Attitude awards, and a clean-up campaign. In February the Council played host to the Suburban Student Council Conference. Plans for beautifying the campus courtyard are expected to become a reality in the near future.
