FAC LTY Even with fewer supplies and shortage of equipment, the teachers kept Abington from getting into a rut and main- tained the high standards every Abingtonian knows so well. They worked long and harcl to keep the name of Abington High School well known favorably everywhere. Along with everyone else, they worriecl through the news, blundereol through a maze of ration points, and over- came serious shortages in the school. In short, Jim, the teach- ers came through with flying colors. Fourth Row- Katharine Mill-er, Englishg Edith M. Milne, Arty Pauline E. Nunn, Foodsg T. vb- ,....... FACULTY And, Jim, you remember the faculty. Most of the ones you knew are still teaching here, although there have been a few changes. Mr. Roberts and Mr. Seltzer have returned from the Armed Forces. Mrs. Marion Bright Bayne, a former AH S grad herself, is now Miss Herzog's assistant while Miss Anna Miller has joined the commercial department and Mr. Pawling, the history department. You should have seen these busy teachers during the war, Jim. They worked hard for the Red Cross, headed bond drives, and served as blood donors. Mr. Gernert served on the Rehabilitation Staff at the Naval Hospitalg Mr. Smiley did his bit on the Ration Boardg while the whole faculty as- sisted several times in issuing ration books.
