Class History JANUARY 1942 Feb. 9 — 136 dazed sophomores flood halls of A. H. S. Feb. 20 — We become acquainted at the Sophomore Party. Feb. 24 — Our perennial president, Bob Handschumach-er, elected. Sept. 18 — We welcome Dr. White as superintendent, succeeding Mr. Weirick. Nov. 26 — A. S. H. behind Uccelletti vanquishes Cheltenham. 27-6. 1943 Mar 5 — Inauguration of the Victory Corps. 1944 Jan. 19 — We jump to the jive at our Junior Prom. after harrowing match, to win District 1 wrestling championship. mi Feb. 25 — A. S. H. squeezes out Lansdowne, 20-19, Dec. 8,9 — The Cat and the Canary terrorizes full houses on both nights. Dec. 22 — Marie Waeltz acclaimed Snow Queen at the White Christmas Senior Prom. 1945 Jan. 14 Jan. 19 1942 Sept. 7 Prelude to graduation. Rev. Vincent T. Ross preaches at Baccalaureate service at Abing-ton Presbyterian Church. 84 veterans sadly take leave of a happily conquered A. H. S. JUNE 300 new sophomores begin their three-year struggle at A. H. S. Oct. 15 — An enthusiastic president. Jack Smith, is elected to lead the class through its first year. Oct. 16 — Class social life starts with fun and fellowship at the Sophomore Party. 1943 Sept. 6 1944 Jan. 14 1945 Feb. 1 — Mar. 3 — Apr. 13, 14 May 25 — June 3 — June 8 — Dick Reeves elected to presidency for junior year. Juniors crowd gym for Crystal Ball. Palmist tells fortunes between dances to Les Arnold's music. At a reorganization meeting, when Dick Reeves, headed for the Navy, declines nom- f ination for presidency, Jim Wilson is elected. President Wilson wins District Wrestling Championship. Class presents the hilarious comedy of youth, Spring Green. Seniors gather for last social affair at their Spring Cotillion. We don our caps and gowns .for Baccalaureate service at Carmel Presbyterian Church. President Zackey presents diplomas. 8
