February 21-Sophs get acquainted at an- nual party. October 3-Jean Day given gavel at first class organization. 'January 15, 1943 - War -brings about Walk to the Junior Prom as theme for dance. February--Ivory tickler, Don Reilly, chosen as Senior B class president. March 5-Jane Locker represents class at Victory Corps installation. September 6-Jim Krayer elected to lead seniors down last lap. September 15-Don Reilly presides over Stu- dent Council, while Walt Klumpp keeps its accounts. November 12, 13-Senior thespians put best foot forward in Best Foot Forward. December 17-Class president crowns Jean Day queen of the winter prom. January 16, 1944-Reverend Robert D. Her- shey, of Glenside Lutheran Church, ad- vises seniors to Get Rid of lt at Ves- per Service, urging them to share their talents and knowledge. January 18-Frank Sinatra, Hamdrew Sis- ters, and other radio skits cause howls of laughter at Senior Class Night. January 21-Three graduates in uniform come home to receive diplomas. After honor students discuss how to win the war of ideas, 109 alumni go forth to meet the problems of tomorrow. JUNPE CLASS HISTORY September 29, 1941-Abington High greets the new sophomore class three weeks late because of the infantile paralysis quarantine. October, 1941-Ned Steel chosen to preside over the class, with vice-president Eve- lyn Engle, secretary Mary Fair, and Marilyn Adam, treasurer. Feibruary 20-Boys model bathing suits and glamorous gowns at the sophomore par- ty as each homeroom presents a skit. January 15, 1943-The 'Royal Knights give out with their rhythm at the Junior Prom. . September-Senior B's elect Arnold McKee president. February 3, 1944-Bill Dodson chosen as Senior A president after Arnold McKee deserts the office for the Army Air Corps. February 18-Senior wrestlers help team se- cure Nbington's first Suburban Cham- pionshi-p. February 26--The wrestlers go on to fur- ther glory as District l champions with Green winning deciding match. March 31, April 1--Spring arrives simul- taneously with the senior play, And Came the Spring, with Mary Fair, Ruth Gibbons, Don Neiman, and Bill Forsyth in the leads. May 26-Seniors don their glad rags for their very last dance at Abington, the Senior prom. June 4-The class listens to words of wis- dom from the preacher at their Vesper Service at Carmel Church. June 6-Grads celebrate gala Class Night with mirth and music. June 9-Seniors say goodbye to their Alma Mater at graduation.
