TIMES OF OUR LIVES Good morning yesterday You wake up and time has slipped away And suddenly it's hard to find All the times we've left behind Remember, do you remember.......... The laughter and the tears The shadows of misty yesteryears The good times and the bad we've seen, And all others in between Remember, will you remember.... Reach back for the joy and the sorrow, Put them away in your mind, For the past is a time from which to borrow To spend when we get to tomorrow Here comes the rising sun, The seasons have passed one by one. So gather those moments while you may, Collect the dreams you dream today And remember, these are, the times of our lives. To the Class of 1977: You have reached A Time of Your Life when secondary education is an accomplished fact. A time to assume the responsibilities of a job, post secondary education, or enlistment in a branch of the service. The past years have been a time of preparation; your family, schools, community, church, and peers have contributed to your intellectual and emotional development. Whether your growth continues as you enter into a much larger world will depend on your selection of friends, of opportunities, and goals. You are embarking on a time of your life when you will make many more unassisted de- cisions. Success and happiness may be affected by your decisions. Don't let haste, that is quick, snap decisions, be the cause of serious disappointments. Plan and prepare constantly toward some goal or objective that will bring you success and happiness in life. Sincerely, John A. Murray Principal DEDICATION Mrs. Phillips Math help, ideas for rallies, and school spirit are just a few of the things Mrs. Phillips has given our class. She has contributed to many of the memorable times and we will never forget her kindness. This is why we dedicate our book to her. i Mr. Stanton We also dedicate this book to Mr. Stanton in order to thank him for all the time he has given us, as soc- cer coach and yearbook advisor. He has helped us through good and bad times alike, and we want him to know that we appreciate everything he has done. 5 Of all the times of our lives , our years at Abington High School will be re- membered by many as being the best. We, the editors, have endeavored to bring together the most memorable of these times. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the production of this book. We would especially like to thank Mr. Stanton for his help and understanding. Hopefully, the good and bad times that we have experienced together have en- riched our lives. If, upon reading this book, you recall these times, we will have fulfilled our purpose. We knew we were tough, but only we knew, The others above us, they hadn't a clue. With officers like Tom, Kev, Janice, and Jeanne, We felt we were finally making the scene. The kids from St. Bridgets', they came in the fall, By the end of the year, we knew them all. At our first rally, we didn't know what to do, As the votes were counted, we were number two! The Frolio was our number one hangout that year We had our first tastes of munchies and beer. We got our jackets at the beginning of summer It was too hot to wear them, and that was a bummer. We left for our outing one sunny June day, At Paragon Park where we wanted to stay. Later in June we left without tears, It was finally the end of our Freshman year! SOPHOMORE YEAR We returned from vacation with not even a sigh We were no longer the babies of Abington High. Our officers were Rick, Donna, Jeanne, and Janice With them as our leaders we couldn't miss! We ordered our rings of silver and gold, But some were quite different, not like we were told. The second floor was now our domain, For rallies we adorned it, and not all so plain! To numerous dances we all said we'd go But some never came and did not even know! The Winter Carnival was new to us all Those who attended all had a ball. Our basketball team finished in first place No doubt about it, they were tops in that race. The year went by fast, as we watched ourselves grow Into the adults of the future (for most that was so). We realized how good the past two years had been, And we prepared ourselves to become upperclassmen. 10 HISTORY JUNIOR YEAR It was our junior year-third floor at last! Being underclassmen was all in our past. Led by Sue, Janet, Janice, and Alynne, We knew that this rally, the trophy we'd win. The senior's tears could not ruin that day We soon set our sights to the prom in May. We left prom committees with hands colored blue, We knew it'd be worth it with the mural in view. Christa was Queen that memorable night, Mrs. Powers wondered why the punch didn't taste right. A year full of good times we'll never forget, Fund raising activities kept us out of debt. Candy, a cake sale, and a car wash too, We still had so many more things to do! And also came BurgerTime installed down the street, At last we had something edible to eat! Soon the year ended, we'd had so much fun, Next year would be better; we'd be number one ! SENIOR YEAR We are finally seniors, and now really cool We're the best class at Abington High School! We've came a long way, and it has been rough Four years of high school-that sure is enough! Ricky, Alynne, Janice, and John They'll lead us till June, when we'll be gone. The Christmas Bazaar was not quite a success Even though we did try to do our best. Car washes, dances, and co-ed gym Everything equal for her and for him. We wondered if we would last the first semester On many report cards, which were surprisingly better. Superlatives, Miss Abington, and Miss D.A.R. We wrote so many ballots, and choosing was hard. Receptions and graduation are coming so fast, Before we know it, they'll be in our past. But soon we must separate, we must depart With love for our school, and thanks in our hearts. 31 QUEEN: Christa Henrikson COURT: Lynda Fuoco, Debbie Caruso, Jeanne Riordan, Denise Marrier, Christa Henrikson, Janet Kenney, Sue Cashman, Tammy Moore, and Laura Jernstedt SENIORS John Adams Patricia Allaire Nancy Adley Donna Aikens Kenneth Allan Mark Arsenault Susan Austin 34 Cathleen Bowden Marilyn Boyajian Lisa Branting David Briggs Richard Burke Ellen Byrne Ellen Caine Neil Caldeira Bruce Cannon Debra Caruso 36 Susan Cashman Kathleen Casey Jeanne Chalmers Cheryl Christie Corinne Christopher Linda Cina Karen Clark Barry Connors Donna Cutler Mary Connolly Carolyn Curran Audrey Damon John Doyon 39 Phyllis Freberg Steven Fafard Karen Friese Linda Fuoco Thomas Fusco Jacquelyne Fay James Eldredge Linda Everett Pauline Ernst Elizabeth Evans 4 Robert Ewell Linda Gibson Neil Gillis Patricia Gill is Alynne Gilmartin Catherine Goulet Jane Goodwin Marc Grant Sandra Gould Lance Greenough 42 Karen Hanlon Charles Harte Michael Hastings 43 John Greene Paul Henneberry Christa Henrikson Donald Hobart Donna Hausen Dianne Healy David Janshego Laura Jernstedt Scott Johnson Robert Jones Kim Holmes Dennis Hunt Cathy Janes Christopher Kane Janet M.
