principal’s message To the Class of 1976: Congratulations to each graduate of the Class of 1976. You have reached an important plateau in your educational plans. Now, you have the necessary credentials to extend your formal educa- tion beyond the secondary level. If formal training is not your immediate goal, be cognizant that education, that is the acquisition of knowledge, begins at birth and ends with the grave. Through reading, work, experience, travel and social contacts you will grow in comprehension, understand- ing, and assuredly in a storehouse of memories. Your yearbook editors have chosen Memories as their theme. During your high school years incidents, some pleasant some unpleasant, will at a future date bring smiles or frowns as you recall escapades perpetrated by your fellow classmates of members of the faculty. Memories recall the past, the good old days, fleeting moments of physical of emotional ex- periences that bring pleasure, pain, shame, or embarrassment. But, the past is gone; the future holds the promise. The past won't be forgotten but the future can be planned. Set goals; Even if you ne- ver attain your goals there will be satisfaction in your pursuit of them. May each of you accumulate pleasant memories as you strive for your place in life. Sincerely, John A. Murray Principal

dedication We, the Class of 1976, wish to dedicate our year- book to Mrs. Virginia M. Lind. She has been in the high school for 15 years and we feel she has, through her friendly smile, warm heart, and helping ways, made our years at Abington High more pleasurable. We wish to thank her for all she has done and we hope that through this yearbook she will remember us as fondly as we will remember her. The Class of 1976 in memoriam Everett Hartwell A teacher at A.J.H.S. 1958 to 1975 Christopher Crahan A teacher at A.H.S. 1964 to 1974 5 The noble act which he did, and his greatness, they are not written: for they are many. Consider that he laboured not for himself only, but for all them that seek knowledge.
