That special feeling got us Abilene High has always had a blend of unity, grace, and spirit that far exceeded the realms of character that was needed by each and every school. That quality was pride. Pride was exhibited on the sport Helds, the classrooms, and in all the events in which Abilene High participated throughout generations and generations. Who could forget the three consecutive state football champion- ships won by the Eagles in the late Hfties? Although the team was not as powerful as some, they won because they had pride-pride in themselves, their coaches, and most importantly, in their school. Eagle pride was at its peak every time the beat was played, or as Bold Gold cheered everyone one. But most of all, it was felt when the participants donned the black and gold of Abilene High, and showed everyone their pride in their school.
