Adminisfrafiau ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL D. B. 'VVEATI-IERBY, B. A., M. A. As the work of this year has progressed, I have observed repeatedly the general atti tude of the majority of our high school students, and it is indeed gratifying that proper and splendid consideration of responsibility toward war conditions have been shown. Seri ousness has prevailed, and yet ability to relax has been maintained. All along there has been strong evidence of willingness to co-operate and to become prepared mentally and physically. Occasionally we may observe some unworthy ef- forts of the careless and irresponsible, but the ref sponse toward corrective measures by the true and tried majority only serves to strengthen the long- held faith that l have had in the youth of our entire nation. To glance forward, we would all judge that the duties of world citizenship that are to be placed on the shoulders of our high school students of today are unusually heavy. Surely joys and sorrows alike are to be shared in the performance of these. Sin- cerity, diligence, and perseverance in all efforts will be necessary. lt is my hope that this war-torn world may emerge from this conflict a far better place in which to liveg that the privileges and pleasures of democratic living may be granted to all. I would extend to our youth the most sincere wishes for glorious success in efforts to stop totalitarianism and rebuild to a civilization that would know no such horrors as those of war. Sincerely yours, DUN B. WEATHERBY
