Gibson won during his three years on the Abilene High School coaching staff sincerely regret that he must leave the lo- cal institution to assume the duties as head mentor at Eastland High School. As assistant football coach, he earned and deserved much praise for his large part in de- veloping the powerful line of the Eagles. Best wishes to Hoot's success as a coach. wherever he may go. Coach H, S. Fatherree lent his abilities to basketball and tennis. He had much hard luck in basketball in losing players. but he took what material he had and de- veloped a team that surprised West Texas by sweeping the District Tournament. He attained no less success as a tennis mentor. Coach S. D. Rattan assisted Mr. Fatherree as basketball coach. He showed that he was no mean coach when it comes to putting the players in shape for hard contests.
