FOREWORD Abilene Christian College is in a stage of transformation. Improvement and expansion herald the reception of the greater college. Many structural changes in the interest of the future are already appearing. The “Prickly Pear” is not concerned with the College of the future, but rather does it fervidly endeavor to preserve within its pages the vitalized pas- toral beauty of the present College. ’Tis said of old masterpieces that age gives to them a mellowness which the human hand cannot duplicate; thus making them doubly valuable. So let it be with this “1936 Pricklv Pear”. Let the invisible finger of time weave about the faces and places pictured herein a magic web so that in some distant day they will revive memories; rich and mellow mem- ories; memories of youthful life and activity.

To Dr. Walter H. Adams, the Dean of Students, the students have gone with their problems and found him ever willing to make their problems his. His personal interest in each boy and girl in our every worthy effort has been a source of encouragement and in- spiration to each and every student in Abilene Christian College. We love our Dean because of his everlasting willingness to solve our problems. His office door is never closed to the most humble of our group, and his hand is never slow to serve. It is with pride and honor on our part, that we do affectionately dedicate this “1936 Prickly Pear” to our beloved Dean. DEDICATION
