AHJH Band members fit this definition. This year the bands numbered 275 players. They performed at football games, marched in parades, and presented concerts. The bands were divided into the following groups, Gold, Blue, Cadets and Stage. Mr. David Smardo was the conductor. The bands really did an outstanding job. 57

Orchestra met second hour this year. The group was composed of 25 members and they did an outstanding job in the field of orchestra compe- tition. They attended an orchestra Festival in Hayes during the fall. LEFT TO RIGHT-Becky Baker, Gay Stones, Carol Cramer. The Girls Trio performed at various activities this past year. They sang at the Methodist Church, and for the community clubs of Garden City. At Hugoton they received a high rating during the vocal contest. Sue Stallsworth was the piano accompanist.
