GIRL ' ATHLETIC G .A.A., under the direction of Miss Delores McMilIin, is open to all Abbott girls. Meetings are held on Tuesday and Thursday after school. All members work on a point system. To be eligible for a G .A.A. award three hundred points must be earned by the end of the ninth grade year. Points may be earned both in school and out of school. The group meets once each month to plan social events. This year the girls enjoyed a picnic in September, an after-school party in October, and in November sponsored the Touchdown Trot , all school dance. They enjoyed a Christmas party in December, a pot- luck dinner in February, and a spring picnic. Field hockey and soccer are popular sports in the fall while volley ball and basketball are the winter sports. In the spring, activities center around badminton and tennis on the outdoor courts. Other interesting activities of the year included square and folk dancing, tumbling, and hiking . p am. ranw1nk1e, Lynn Aaron. I 43 As A
