We thank Thee, Lord, that Thou has given us The privilege of fellowship with one Richly endowed with talents manifold. Not hidden, but used to bring alike to kith and kin and those in need Joy and happiness untold. There is so much of her that we shall remember-- Her ready wit--the gift of tongue to make one laugh And lift the spirit--her cheer dispelled the gloom. We felt a difference in the atmosphere whene'er She came into the room. She used her words as artists use a brush-- Creatively, so that our inward ear and eye did long enjoy The scenes she painted, the people that she knew. By her unique descriptive power, whate'er she re-created More alive and vivid grew. No acrimonious tongue had she. We shall remember 'Twas not at others, but more at self she laughed. She oft was target of her anecdotes, and from her we came to see That tolerance of others brings tolerance of self. She set her standards high in what she did. Perfection was the goal in all her work. And love for others did she prove With tedious tasks which took her skill and time That upward they might move. And as she joins the choir invisible, O may we pray That what she gave us we in turn may give, A pattern that repeats itself as long as life shall be. So that on earth, as well as with Thee above, she gains Immortality.
