Bobby is a member of the basket- ball team and an officer in the Key Club. Pie has been a member of the Homecoming court for two years. They have both been chosen class favorites. They are both active mem- bers of the student council. These two people manage to find time for both work and play and are a credit to the Junior Class. Bobby is one of the star players on the Wildcat football team. Marlene Duhon The French Club is composed of students from both French I and French II. Among their activities is a party held near the end of the school year. A student who would like to be a member of the Beta Club must have at least a B average. Among the projects of this active Club is a clock to be placed at a central point in the school. Biology Club The Biology Club along with their advisor, Mr. Chester Broussard, have gone on num- erous field trips to learn more about plants and animals. The marching band under the direction of Mr. Anthony Fontana works hard to perfect complicated formations for their performances at foot- ball games and in parades. Mr. Steen Goes to Washington Wesley Steen, one of the outstanding students at A. H. S. , received an appointment to the 88th Congress to serve as Page Boy on the floor of the House of Representatives. Wesley is the first stu- dent in Vermilion Parish to be given this honor. Superintendent G. J. Ledet made this comment: Wesley's outstanding scholastic record and his con- tinuous cooperation make him a representative of whom the Vermilion Parish School Board is justly proud. By this appointment the schools and the community have been honored. This is the Library of Congress where the Pages go to school. The school has a selected enrollment of approximately 60 students and offers a complete curriculum conforming to the requirements of the grade level of the pupils. Wesley's home, 404 East Capitol. Wesley is seen on his way to work after school. The pages attend school from 6 o'clock to 10 o’clock in the morning. The rest of their day is spent running errands for Congressmen.
