They had won the 25A dis- trict championship by hanging up a 5-1 mark in their zone, then defeating Bellville in a two-out- of-three-game play-oft to settle a tie, and then downing Tomball in a similar play-oft. They had captured the championship of two tournaments, and taken runner-up in the third in which they competed. Their fine season was brought to a close in the bi-district match against Sweeny. Sweeny de- feated the Tigers 70-43, and in the state meet was the Class A championship team.
