Religious Groups Stress Spiritual Life Religious groups on the CSU ccfmpus plctyed an important part in the rehgious and spiritual life of many students. These groups, affiliated with churches in the Fort Collins area, offered services in counseling, religious studies, recreation and fellow- ship. Most of the groups took advantage of the location and convenience of Danforth Chapel using it for both morning and eve- ning services. The combined efforts of all the religious groups on campus produced an intensive Rehgion in Life Week with speakers, debates, discussions, and special services. Each group was represented on the Religious Council which, in turn, was the governing body of the groups. I 216

Doimld s.; l«dy ilytliat iheli Problems of the world, both in politics and foreign relations were topics of dis- cussion of the International Relations Club meetings. Their desire to learn more about the world situation led them to see films of current events and sponsor speakers, not only for their own group, but for the cam- pus and townspeople as well. Cosmopolitan Club, the link between foreign students and the students of CSU, had members who were especially inter- ested in orienting foreign students to cam- pus and in bringing a part of other coun- tries to CSU. This group helped sponsor International Days, a time when the food, dances and ancient customs of the heritage of foreign students are brought to the campus. i Welsl, r, Harilyi Cosmopolitan Club en.
