14 MESSALONSKEE RIPPLE The members of the Orchestra from our class are: Carolyn Smith, Patty Nason, Ann Fuller, Peggy Oliver, and Horace Pullen. Along with the last three the follow- ing are also in the band: Judy Allen and Louise Axtell. We also have three twirlers in our class: Carolyn Smith, Doris Lacroix, and Sally Tuttle. Bob Buzzell and Pat McCann were on the boys, basketball team and Horace Pullen was sophomore manager of this team. Our class was well represented in the girls' basketball team by Peggy Oliver, Judy Allen, Carolyn Smith, Louise Axtell, and Sally Tuttle. Q is for the Questions, Which we're bound to ask 3 The teachers in answering them Have quite a task. R is for Robinson, Oh, Agnes, dear! That's what Potter says- At least, so we hear. R is for Rossignol, A swell classmate is she. Just ask any Junior, And you will soon see. R is for Real, And you can just bet, She's fond of the boys Or the masculine set. S is for Southard, Stevens, Stowell, and Spiller, Cute gals are they, They are all killer-dillers. T islfor Taylor, She's a gal you'll all like, But on all the trips It's with Gordon she'll hike. U is the letter That's hard to make rhyme, We'll just let it go Till some other time. V is for Vigue, He plays the cornet, He'll be a musician, That you can bet. W is for Wrigley, A rugged young chap. His excellent build, Is a feather in, his cap. Warren and Wentworth, Are girls with dark hair. When you see them together, They are pals, you would swear. We've hunted in vain, For rhymes X, Y, and Z! But its almost impossible That you can see. ROBERT FISHER '48 Class of 949 CLASS OF '49 Our first class meeting was held Septem- ber 10. The following oflicers were elected: President-Carolyn Smith Vice-President-Betty Parker Treasurer-Zillah Rockwell Secretary-Peggy Oliver Patty Nason and Horace Pullen were elected as our representatives to the stu- dent Council. Under the direction of these oiiicers Freshman Reception was held on September 20 and was very successful. During the year Zillah Rockwell and Priscilla Roy left our class to go to other schools. Sally Tuttle was then elected to succeed Zillah as Treasurer. Sixteen of our members belong to the Glee Club.
