German enthusiasts express tradition around the campus With fingers tense and minds busy, eyes focused on the multitude of questions presented at the National German Exam at Baylor University. The German club had 12 of 46 Texas students place at the 902 rank and had an overall win of 18 awards. With a membership of 45 students, the German Club earned money for trips like the one to Baylor, by promoting the sales of advent calendars and gummi bears. The club participated together as a whole, said German teacher Irene Bolin. Promoting unity among the German students and creating a feeling of warmth and friendship, Friendship was the key word to the group success, for each member contributed what they could to the groups' activities. The club set this example by forwarding a can fund drive for the needy families around Austin. I've got an excellent bunch of students, concluded Bolin. l'm real proud of them.
