In compiling this book we have endeavored to meet as high a standard as the annual of any other college of the State and vi- cinity, and, at the same time, present to the public a book which would uphold in every particular the dignity, the honor, and the reputation of Western Maryland College. Our chief purpose, however, has been to publish in a bound volume the complete record of the brightest four years of lifef' that we may in time turn to these pages and dream again the dreams of the past. Our work is finished, the mission of this book has now commenced. We make no apologies, for we have done our best in view of the limited time, the limited financial resources, and the limited experience at our disposal. Whether the book pleases or disappoints you, we commend it to your hands with the reservation, that, were it the fulfillment of our dreams instead of the product of our hands, your comment would be uttered in vain.
