MR. JOSEPH HERMAN one of Westchester High's original landmarks in the music depart- ment has this year taken over the administrative position of registrar. He has the very hard iob of accounting tor everyone in school, every period of the day, every school day of the year. He takes care of all absence records. His spare time, if any, is spent in sponsoring the Key club in coordination with the community Kiwanis club. MRS. NEVA HERNDON has been head coun- selor at Westchester High School since it began. It has been her duty to assemble the master pro- gram to tit the personnel of the school. She also counsels the B7's who are coming into our school, and the Senior A's whom she guides in their final semester.

administration We shall never forget that first morning in September 1948 when we were introduced to our high school and our principal, MRS. HORN. She has been working side by side with us ever since to aid us in achieving distinction in every- thing we have done. MRS. YOUNG has been at Westchester since September, l95l. Although she has not been with us from the beginning, she has gained much admiration from those who know her. Among her many duties are: organizing the daily bulle- tin, sponsoring the Girls' League, and arranging the master calendar for our school activities. MR. FRED TANNER has been at Westchester only two years, but the work he has successfully completed in that time is amazing. Under his sponsorship the Boys' League has become one of the most active in the entire city. He has shown a strong faith in Westchester sports, which has been rewarded by the steady improve- ment ot its teams. student body government ln the above picture, graduate Nancy La Boun- ty, The fall Student Body President, is shown handing the gavel of the office to Mike Pollock, who has served the school in the same capacity this past semester. These two Presidents served to the best of their abilities, as shown inthe count- less ways that Westchester has improved. Terry Paige occupied the office of Student Body Vice-President for the entire year. Included in his fine year's work were' being Senate President, participating on the Executive Board, the Service and Scholarship Board, and the Sports Night Com- mittee. Student Body Government has always been a major part of Westchester. The size and complexities have increased but the pioneer spirit remains. The Sports Night Committee plans and carries through the sports nigh activi- ties and advertisement, making each one more interesting than the last. From left to right are: T. Paige, D. Rach- low, T. Thrasher. Paper Drives don't just happen, a great deal of thought goes into them beforehand. This iob belongs to the Paper Drive Commit- tee. Left to right are: B. Lyon, S. Champlin, T. Thrasher, B. Engstrom, C. Ferguson. At football games and all sports activities big crowds gather. The Rally Committee observes at these ac- tivities and picks out the different problems and attempt to solve them to the advantage of the school as a whole. Left to right are: FIRST ROW: J.
