Among these programs were the Spring and Christmas concerts and the Annual Spring Festival, which was held at Eash High School this year. These three projects would have been more than enough activity, but the band also added to our en- thusiasm and spirit at pep rallies, football games, and basketball games. The Swing Band, a group of students who play very danceable music, is also under the leadership of Mr. Skornicka. Members of the band who are interested in playing popular music with the possi- bility of becoming professionals are eligible to join. This year the Swing Band played for the Franklin Junior High School Freshman Party. Mr Lester Sl ornicka f 1 ' 1, i . Q. fs . This was another of the professional performances of Director Ralph Holter and his orchestra. West has always been known for the sterling productions its orchestra gives at these events and at the annual Spring Music Festival, held this year at East Hgh School. The orchestra's achievement is a direct result of hard work and long hours of study by Mr. Holter and his protcges. The invest- ment certainly paid off handsomely in dividends of good music for the orchestra members themselves, the school, and the community. 83 A Cappella ROW 1 Sharon Krake Patricia Schultze Sharyl DeSeve, Colette Lessuise, Mary Timm, Donna Larsen, Carole Delie Nancee Nero Nancy Hadley Barbara Maes Gail Vincent Marion Fl8Ck Carol Kurianowicz Joan Baye Jane McKinley Kathleen Timm, Mary Christensen ROW 2 Mary Baeb Kate Oshefsky Ruth Holubar Nancy Miller Gloria Unsm Joyce Engum Carol Stencil, Colette Jackson, Nancy Nuthals, Jacqueline Chaudoir Carol Rusch Patricia Schaden, Jacqueline Larsen Rosemary Corrigan Donna Corneluis, Mary McGahan Barbara Landry Jacqueline Kaster Cathlene Christensen Joan Gutowskl Emily Chaudoir Joan Peters ROW 3 Mary Held Ellen Gatske Mary Van Duren Kathleen Gallagher Karen Vermeire, Charlene Frette, Joanne Detrie One of the organizations West High of fers to those students who are musically inclined is the A Cappella Choir.
