Facts And Figures The Mathematics Department this year, as always, has been exceedingly helpful in pre- paring West High Students for college and vocation. A great Variety of math courses ranging from general to business and sci- ence--related mathematics helped to encour- age students to see new relations between their environments and math. A great deal of appreciation goes to Mrs. Anderson, Head of the Math Department, whose efforts and cooperation enabled our teachers and students to learn and work to- gether more effectively. A,B. and M.A. With accelerated space effort and the de- velopment of faster and faster super trans ports, the World is shrinking at an alarm- ing rate and the World's cultures and languages find themselves rubbing shoulders and intermingling more and more. This, basically, is the problem which the Foreign Language Department deals with at West-the problem of com- munication in a shrinking World. As always, the Department Was an active one with offerings in German, French, Russian, Spanish, and Latin coupled with the Sponsorship of two very busy clubs, LATIN AMERICAN STUDENT CLUB and FRENCH CLUB.
