Standing Barbara Potter, Mr. Panfil, Gordon Griese- mer, Mary Juech, Noraleen Wendelborn, The responsibility of organizing and administer- ing the entire program of social events at West Bend High School falls on the capable shoulders of the stu- dents pictured here who comprise the Student Social Committee and their adviser, Mr. Panfil. Working with Mr. Panfil, the faculty social chair- man, these students find much to keep them busy. Among their many and varied tasks in insuring a suc- cessful program at West Bend High are the following: setting up a social calendar of thirteen dances and parties so that these do not conflict with other school functions, corresponding with, hiring, and paying for the orchestras that play at all affairs, inviting parents to act as chaperones at the dances and later sending them thank you notes, ordering and paying for the re- freshments, decorating materials, and favors needed at these affairs: obtaining change and counting the proceeds from these affairsg and, finally. setting up a code of ethics and behavior governing all social activ- Social Committee . The Social Committee members also hire the student buses, and issue Parent Permission Slips, bus tickets, and game tickets for out-of-town athletic contests which the students wish to attend. Despite the fact that these boys and girls receive no formal recognition or award for their work, they derive complete satisfaction from seeing their fellow students thoroughly enjoying the social events that were possible only through their unselfish efforts, At the Social Committee meeting of April 18, Mr. Panfil, Mary LeMahieu, Bonnie Plout, Sharon Kerry, Carmen Kerry, and Noraleen Wendelborn approved the committee members for next year. The new mem- bers are Bonnie Plout, Sharon Kerry. Jackie Schultz, Ilene Hanson, Mary LeMahieu, secretary-treasurer. The 1955-56 dance schedule was discussed and ap- proved, and the new committee then familiarized itself with the duties of the Social Committee in order to be ready for next year.
