They were Lyman Anderson, Perry Butler, Merwyn Carlson, Bruce Johnson, Leonard Kliment, Robert Seagren, Jim Halleen, Randel Anderson, Bill Anderson, and Rodney Banks. These lettermen plus fifteen other candidates formed the total of the Viking squad. Sixteen boys earned letters this year. They were Lyman Anderson, Perry Butler. Merwyn Carlson, Bruce Johnson. Leon- ard Kliment, Robert Seagren, Gary Carlson, Jim Halleen, Jerry Albrecht, Bill Anderson, Randel Ander- son, Rodney Banks, Gerald Claussen, Charles Robins, Ronald Wiese, and Terry Wamberg. Dennis Gilli- lan and Iro Johnson earned student manager letters. Through hard work and team effort the Vikings made a good showing in their games and concluded a season record of three wins, three losses, and one tie. The Vikings, plagued by hard luck throughout the year, finished the season with a record of six wins and ten losses. The Vikings took fourth place in the Corntassle Conference Tournament and had a Conference record of four wins and three losses. In the District Tournament the Vik- ings were defeated in the first round by Niobrara.
