Seniors The future stretches before us in the distance, leading us to far away dreams. For some those dreams are of college, travel or marriage. After this year life will never be the same, our friendships, romances and crushes will be spread far around the world. It is hard to believe that after twelve years of schooling we have finally reached a point. Our last year of high school is at a close. We can hardly wait to leave and yet we wouldn't have traded this year for anything.

202 The Senior Class Chose Rene Chartier Senior class officers are Cynthia Sanchez, treasure-rg Emily Akin, vice presidentg Rene Chartier, presienetg Aileen Arroyo, historian, Gene Anderson, student council representativep and Becky Chavez, secretary. THE CLASS OF '73 Their sophomores leaders Arnold Lucero president and Paul Montoya vice president lead the class through an exciting first year with activities of every kind. The sophomores gave the seniors a run for their money in U.tvl.O.C. and almost beat them with their candidate, Willy Wedemeyer. Helen Romero won as Spirit Sweet- heart over her junior and senior class competition. Though throughly har- assed by the seniors, the sopho- mores made it through their first year at Valley. As juniors they were lead by Paul Montoya president and Arnold Lucero, vice president and they beat both the junior and senior classes in . . . U.M.O.C. With the twice as ugly twins, Roderick and Rodney Roybal, they were the first junior class in the history of Valley High School to win U.M.O.C. They again won the Spirit Sweetheart con- test this year with Brenda Sanchez Davis. Their main goal this year was to raise enough money to put on the best prom yet and they accomplished their goal. As their last year at Val- ley the Class of 73 chose as their leaders Rene Chartler president and Emily Akin, vice president. They started their year off with helping out at registration by making l.D.'s. Then went full force into the harrassing of all and any available sophomores. Their U.M.O.C. candidate Bobby Pierce this year won by over 100 dol- lars, which after two years just proves who is the ugliest class. Emily Akin was the beautiful Homecoming Queen from the senior class and JoAnn Ulibarri added to the Christ- mas holidays by being elected Snow Queen. As their last contribution to Valley High, the Class of 73 is buying a television monitor for the vedio tape recorder. This is what all of our past money making projects has gone toward, leaving a gift to future Vikings. This has been a past three years stuffed full of old and new friends, places, ideas and fun times never to be forgotten by the CLASS OF '73.
