Gala festivities surrounded the Founders ' Day celebration at the Kappa Sig house. In campus and community service projects, Kappa Sigma gave food to needy families at Thanksgiving, placed second in the Ugly Man Contest in connection with the Campus Chest Dimes Day project, entered Varsity Carnival, and participated in the Texas Independence Day Revolution. Kappa Sigma social life included a Christmas formal with Houston ' s Roy Head and a spring formal with Cali- fornia ' s Uniques. In addition to Round-Up activities and house parties in Mexico, there were numerous weekend and match parties. In University sports, Kappa Sigma was well represented in football, basketball, baseball, swimming, track, and golf. Andy Ibsen was elected all-intramural in football, Loren Singletary was on the freshman baseball team, Chris Kretzschmar, an all-American swimmer, was on the swim- ming team, while Jeff Gregory ran cross country and track. AXA The past year of campus activities brought Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity its ninth consecutive Dads ' Day participa- tion trophy and a second-place award in the 1966 Varsity Carnival concessions category. The fraternity, active in community service, had its annual Muscular Dystrophy Drive car wash and held a Christmas party for the Round Rock School orphans with Chi Omega sorority. Lambda Chi also hosted visiting fellow Jusculino Kubitschek, former president of Brazil. Social events for the fraternity included the White Rose formal, a funny gift Christmas party, a casino party, several casuals, and the annual New Orleans party. In intramural competition, Lambda Chi placed two men in the top ten intramural lists. Dan Bulla repeated as all- University wrestling champion in 1966. Robert Baker and Kirk Franklin won the all-University B tennis champion- ship. Active men on campus included David Lambert, Friars and president of the Texas Union ; Clif Drummond, president of the Students ' Association and Friars; Richard Romo, president of T Association and Friars; Rad Eanes, graduate school assemblyman; Sidney Lanier and Jim Derryberry, engineering school assemblymen, and Lafe Hill, 1967 Cactus associate editor. The fraternity was led by James Vinson Derrick, presi- dent; Harvey Radner Eanes, vice-president; Howard Wayne Craft, secretary; Robert Wayne Mims, treasurer; and David Joseph Jones, social chairman.
