DEW TZVU IAT Sigma Delta Tau was founded at Cornell University on March 25, 1917, and has been at Texas since March 4, 1939. Cafe aulait and old blue are the colors that shine from the busy S.D.T. house. In addition to their volunteer work every week at the Cerebral Palsy Center and taking advantage of their new study hall, individual S.D.T. ' s have distinguished themselves on campus. Fredell Pinkenson was Miss Campus Chest, a Navy ROTC sponsor, co-chairman of the Investigation Committee, and a Freshman Council Advisor. Other S.D.T. ' s kept busy in their capacities as officers of various organizations were Gwen Socol, Cap and Gown; Gene Solka, sophomore secretary of CBA; and Lynn Paine, secretary of the CBA Council. ZTA Zeta Tau Alpha, established at Texas in 1906, combined beauty, brains, and spirit this year to contribute greatly to campus life. Placing third in sorority scholarship and winning an honorable mention in Sing Song, the Zetas cheered their pledge class on to a first in Dime ' s Day collections. Zeta ' s Jessica Darling, University cheerleader, and Esther Rob- erts, co-chairman of Campus Chest, helped to promote the spirit of activity on the campus. Jerry Lee, Jean Rogers, and Jessica Darling were selected to Ten Most Beautiful and Myra Erwin to Phi Beta Kappa.
