Women's Basketball The University of Northern Iowa's women's basketball team played twenty-eight games and ended the season with a 17-11 record. Al- though it was not the best season for the Panthers, the team did man- age to chalk up some impressive marks. Head Coach J.D. Anderson will hove to do some heavy recruiting for next year's team for the Pan- thers are losing five seniors, four of which are starters. Those seniors graduating are Deb Drenth. Carol Hogan. Mire Negus Student Athletic Trainers The student athletic trainers are a dedicated group of individuals. They are responsible for the prevention and care of the athlete and his or her injuries. They work between ten and thirty hours a week without any pay. The trainers' season runs continually throughout the year Each trainer at- tends various athletic events from football games to track meets and open recreation, es- sentially any athletic event where possible injury to the athlete could occur. Many times, the ath- letic trainer will also travel with the team on their road trips. 144 Student Athletic Trainers

Last season's squad which won its first thirteen matches, had five return- ees this season. Coach Mazula also counted on some newcomers for a successful season. We have a fine nucle- us for a good season, but we don't really have any one outstanding player on the team.
