Funded by a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation and administered by the Los Angeles Educational Partnership, the Acade- my emphasizes thematic studies that integrate the arts, humanities and social sciences. Partici- pating students receive many opportunities for cultural enrichment. School trips this year took Humanitas students to see Sarchphagus at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, a technical perfor- mance of the Dance Theatre of Harlem, classical musical programs at Royce Hall-UCLA and the Music Center, as well as exhibits at the Los An- geles Musuem of Art and the Museum of Con- temporary Art. Humanitas teachers include Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Maxwell, 1-ith grade: Mr. Citrin, Mrs. Nelson and Mr. Takagaki, 12th grade.
