In the spring of 1964 the band received its first trophy at the Middle Tennessee Concert Festival which was held at Middle Tennessee State College. This trophy was awarded for a concert performance given by the band. The next trophy came in October 1964 at the Tennessee Tech Homecoming Parade for the best marching and playing band in smallclassification. The following week the Two Rivers Band received a superior rating at Vanderbilt's Dudley Field at the annual Middle Tennessee Marching Festival. In the spring of 98

JU IOR HIGH BAN 1964 all Two Rivers entries in the Solo and Ensemble Festival received superior ratings. Two Rivers was the only Middle Tennessee high school to accomplish this. These eight students were Sandra Rogillio, Jim Wolfe, Chris Laird, Terry Draughon, Doug McDonough, Rea Holdsworth, Larry Apple and Ricky Williams. At the All- State try-outs in December, Sandra Rogillio placed first flute in the orchestra While Jim Wolie was named a percussionist in the orchestra. Terry Draughon and Phil Adams were chosen as alternates in the All- State Band. 99
