I., April 24, 1856, 1874, entered the drafting room of the Providence Steam Engine Co., later entered Brown, but left in 1877 to come to Tufts: 1878, entered drafting room of the Harris-Corliss Engine Works, 1881, was again em- ployed by the Providence Steam Engine Co., 1885, taught in the Rhode Island School of Design, 1887, founded the Rhode Island Technical Drawing School, 1895, came to Tufts as Dean ofthe Bromfield-Pearson School and Professor of Technical Drawing, later became dean of the entire engineering school. 18
