tunilemiae tiene tleemee The Begin-Sadat-Carter summit, the tax revolt, and the general election - those and other events helped students to understand the nation's government and learn to function as better citizens. Some government students inter- viewed candidates for election, in- cluding John Carlin for governor, Mrs. Joan Finney for state treasurer, and J.B. Littlejohn for state repre- sentative. They also made slide- tapes and discussed the candidates' views. Printed materials, oral reports, class discussion, and films also aided in the teaching of these courses. Some seniors earned college credits through the department's advanced placement course. Other classes offered in social stud- ies were: American and world histo- ry, psychology, economics, human relations, law education and Kansas historyf UPPER LEFT: Sadly looking at his homework ABOVE During their hectic day two sopho assignment iS Greg SWDSOU- '80 TOP CEN' mores share a joke RIGHT Trying to think of TER?
