Our cgfozy We wish to tell in these pages of pictures and type, the story of the students, faculty and the personnel of the Temple Public Schools, who by WORKING and PLAYING together in a true spirit of cooperation with the added stimulus of friendly competition get desired RESULTS, OUR STORY of Temple Schools begins with two well-furnished First Grade Rooms, where those students who have just begun the great adventure of school are guided by Mrs. Newcomb and Mrs. Medlin. In these rooms. while seated at four- pupil desks, thechildren lay the found- ations for their educational growth. The Three R's are stressedg proper atti- tudes of work and play are developedg individual improvement is encouraged. The popular Show and Tell hour provides self-expression for all. MRS. NEWCOMB 'S ROOM The West section of the First Grade Building contains the Cafeteria. Here meals that provide a balanced diet are prepared and served each day. After lunch. the First Grades retire to the gym for a rest period on their mats, and are joined by the Second Grade. Later in the year. when activities are scheduled in the gym, the rest periods are spent in the class rooms. MRS. MEDL1N's Room ' To promote Health, Recreation, and Exercise, the children put to good use the slides and swings. Others play group games. Future Tigers engage in tough football. All are under the supervision of teachers on playground duty. CAFETERIA STAFF Mrs. Bridges, Mrs. McClung, Mrs. McCoy, Mrs. Tarkington Mrs. Mullins, Mr.Brown. -v r JE?

Q'-if iS N iggxn JUNGLE BARS A Second Grader can feel big and think big for he has moved up a step, into the grade building. Perhaps he will be in Miss Kooken's room. Here music will receive his whole -hearted response. He can be a member of the rhythm band. He will leam to write now. MRS, JEFFREY 'S ROOM The Third Grade room is next in line for those who are no longer of primary level. With Mrs. Hickerson as leader, the stories about health, and good citizenship take on new meaning.
