Voluntary Impact “I think the most magical moment comes when you’re actually standing in that vacant lot in the Bronx for the first time with nothing between you and and brick wall but thirty feet of dead air. For a moment, all senses are heightened. You can smell the tension and maybe you begin to wonder why you ever volunteered in the first place. Then comes the unmistakable sound of the stretching elastic restraining harness and then the release as you hurtle at full speed until . . . WHAM! That instant of impact makes everything worthwhile and you can only feel sorry for the freshmen who never got to experience it a second time.” Iff mm r nna Puri Meivill Stephen Wffog Wan Cultural Societv 9 Ling, Phil Leung — Pres., Mike Eng, Elaine Chin Christina Jung, Peggy Wu Vivian Lo, Alice Kwan, Tammy Xg, lllef ( lien, Sunny Chu, Martin Hsu, Howie Mo, Peter Hotter, Sterling Tang.
