E.. 1 if au- DIDO The DIDOS, daughters of the Royal Order of the maroon and silver, spent all September preparing for the Rush Banquet. Cecelia Dawson's brother, Pete, gave them the inspiration to use all their energy eating raw eggs and painting the shells for Rush Party favors. The clever gentlemen with egg heads won sixteen new pledges for the girls, swelling the club ranks to 19. Old Didos, advised by Mrs, Gladys Longwell, greeted the pledges honor- ing them with a barbecue at Marilyn Buley's and continuing the evenings festivities with a slumber party at Cecelia Dawson's. Helen Gustafson, Rush Captain, played hostess at the impressive candlelight ceremony October 30th when the new pledglings became full-pledged Didos, no longer Dodos. In November, Prexy Gloria Saenger brought fame to her club when the student body elected her one of the Esquire Calendar Girls of 1951 and honored her at the Skyros Dance. Then came Spring and with it the highlite of the Dido year, their informal dance-and we do mean informal, with a splendid time had by all. Dido was also well represented in the Prom Queens Court by attendants Margaret Nolan and Gloria Saenger. Graduation ended a year of sports, slumber parties, suppers, dances, and cookie sales for the Didos.

HCC Under the majestic sails of HCC this club has had a voyage which none will forget. HCC hoisted its anchor and set sail this September with a mighty crew of members aboard. Sharing their initiation with Pyramids, they presented their young ladies with lovely corsages and completed the evening with a glorious party. From the fall and into the winter season, there were numerous cookie sales, fruit sales, and more parties. During Christmas HCC shared a party with Pyramids again and at the Mistletoe Ball, their own jo Songer was one of the Queen's attendants. The new year was started off with showers for engagements and weddings. Their sails then directed the crew 'toward a very delicious Valentine Cookie Sale. With smooth sailing all the way they stopped and dropped anchor momentarily to share their Easter dance with Pyramids. Many of their outstanding crew members find their names engraved in the bow of the ship. Those which have serenaded the weary crew are Eljeane Agnew, Mary Anne Sparkman, and Mary Anne Wittstruck with accompanist Imogene McHale. Those guiding the group are Phi Theta Kappa members, Virginia Martin, Anne Fast, and Janice Pringle. Much of the credit is due Captain Arlene Wise, with advising crew mem- ber Mrs. Scott. The journey has ended for this year, but not the memories which each will carry with him.
